Who here does the good stuff?

I try and recycle as much as possible, but I'm quite often slack.

Although I do use a washing machine detergent with a green label and it does something like save the koalas.

I recycle at my apartment. Theres some huge containers just outside for plastic, bottle and cans. No cardboard unfortunately..

but yeah after parties and such i go around and collect all the bottles and cans and recycle em.

Saving Koalas is a good start.

Plus they're evil! this one would kill you in a second if you come within 5 feet of him!

There certainly is a cuteness factor for Japanese tourists, however they often smell and have sharp nails that can scratch. Its just lucky that Australians don't share common interests with New Zealanders when it comes to treatment of animals.

Haha, still hurting I see.

I grew up in a smallish town and the council thought it would be a good idea, especially coming up to a local vote, to set-up a recycling system in the town.

So they brought in the special bins, and people started to seperate the rubbish. Little did they know that the council did not invest in any changes to the treatment plant, so all the rubbish went in the same pile. So you have thousands of people working their arses off everyday, for absolutely nothing.

Lets just say that you and I can probably look at a pair of sheep skin ugg boots the same way we look at other shoes, but your regular Kiwi looks at them in a slightly romantic manner.

Great post Anthony. You should make a thread where everyone can go to tell their ex's to go to hell.

(I'm just kidding by the way)

The good stuff, as in coke? I don't do it, but I tried it a few times!

edit: oh, you mean recycling? Yup, whenever I can.

its standard procedure here in canada..

Posted by tu_face on Nov-25-2004 11:49:

yeah we recycle cans, glass, paper, plastic, and we compost too. the local council here take care of everything except the compost.

its pretty much standarn stuff in our county at least, its just a shame itds patchy in its use. at my workplace, they havent yet provided us with a separate bin for card and paper. the amount of paper that goes in the normal bin is disgusting.

I've been told by a friend that owns a waste management company that the people that own the recycling company pay his company an amount less than they get paid by the city to collect the recyclables for the privilege to discard the recycled stuff at one of his dumps.

So if you recycle you're just paying more out of your taxes to have it thrown away in a dump.
