REVIEW: josh wink tore up philly

7am... just got back from philly. remind me not to do anymore far road trips by myself for awhile. i dont know HOW i made it home. and since i have to leave in about an hour and half to make the road trip for turkey dinner (another 2 hour drive), i might as well write my review of this awesome night.

i didnt think i would even make it to philly. the fog going down was so thick it was unreal. not to mention pouring rain. but as i contemplated turning back, i got depressed, thinking i dont want to sit home on the biggest party night of the year, so i kept going and got there safe and sound around 9:30. met up with joanna and kasper at Fat Tuesdays and did some pregaming, and headed over to Fluid around 10:30.

It was pretty dead. I ran into an old friend of mine from another messageboard, who i havent seen in about 5 years, and we did some catching up and getting hammered. Sometime later, ian, wally, and mark pappas showed up. there was no opening dj, just a cd playing, which kinda sucked. josh wink was being interviewed for something, and then headed up to the booth. he rocked it hard from the first record to the last, and that place filled up super quick -- fuller than it was for markus last week! did some mingling but eventually found myself dancing in the dj booth b/c it was awesome to watch josh having such a good time up there, just a few feet away. i told him how i really loved his set this summer in miami.

even though we had previously decided to skip Transit after all, we ended up there anyway... me, kasper, wally, ian, mark and his "famous" friend whose name i still do not know, but who was mad cool to chat with on the way there. Transit was PACKED to the brim... i never DID get to see Wink spin again because i left a little after 4, but the djs there were setting a good vibe. i left the main room with mark and went up to where the sound?light? guy was and took some crowd pics, then we went into another room upstairs where i danced while he talked to people, and finally we went downstairs into what i suppose was the VIP area, where some dj was playing a really kick-ass oldskool hiphop set. i danced there til about 4, then we went to find everyone else, and finally left, so i could get back here at a decent hour.

sorry to everyone i texted so early this morning... i just couldnt stay awake. thankfully a bunch of you were at Tenaglia/Lawler and kept me company for a bit.

i had an awesome night, and i'm glad i went out. i'm in the process of uploading the pics between getting ready here. i'll try to get them and the vids up before i leave.

Its cool though, Ian and mne left to go get some food. I didnt need it anymore anyways.
