Pro53=supersaw pad tutorial
I seen this topic posted alot on TA, dont know if this tutorial has been posted before
It might help some TA's creating the all popular supersaw pad lol
Pro-53 tutorial
yep, great tut, pro53 still rules!
Indeed. Pro-53 is one of the only VST Instruments that I still use (along with Atmosphere and the occasional V-Station/z3ta)
Its ability to do 32 voices of unison can make some INCREDIBLY thick monophonic leads.
Pro 53's Unison aint that good most of the time it creats wierd sound...especially on pads ... like POWERFULL-regular-POWERFULLregular-POWERFULL-regular
this is the build up of the notes while using pro 53's unison... :/

A little game for you all...
One sample is made from JP-8080
Another one is made from using Pro-53 in FLStudio 4
Guess which one is which?
A
B
It's almost the same.. but you can still tell a tiny bit of difference between the real thing and the imitation
iiiisss.. A the faker?
i have never made the pro53 saw sound in flstudio yet so i dont know. it just sounds like its less quality
pretty sure A is pro 53 and b is jp
A sounds like it has cheap fx running in the background and the way it begins and ends it sounds a bit ugly
b sounds warmer and smoother.
pm me if im right or wrong so others can keep guessing
B has to be the jp. listen to the bottom end on it. as soon as the first interval played it just sounded fuller, deeper and warmer. much tighter bass end and texture of it is just...i dont know.
played A. thought, cool that sounds nice.
played B. just grinned. thats why i think its the JP.
its a shame i dont have a pro53 cuz i wouldnt mind tweaking that patch. i reckon i could get it a little more like the JP with EQs and a teeny bit of compression. they sound close enough that i reckon is do-able.
nabbed the pro-53 demo from the NI site. shame about the 10 minute deactivation but at least it doesnt have bursts of noise intermittently.
i built this supersaw to bring up the bass end. --->
Supersaw Cliche
the low end and sub reproduction on my headphones is almost non existant (sony in the ear headphones. they came with my discman). i can hear the low end fairly good though so i assume theres far too much bass if played on monitors. lemmie know if thats the case and ill fix it. if loads of peeps like it ill post the settings. on my headphones though it sounds quite warm as is. unless the person behind the JP is an unbelievable producer i reckon its fairly easy to reproduce decent supersaws just with a couple of cheap software tools.
A = Pro-53
B = JP8080
right?
yep.. anyone who said B is coorect!
BTW... i randomly switched the order of the pads again and updated it again...
so anyone else wanna take a guess??
I just wanna see how close as possible i can get my pro-53 to sound as a supersaw
Sorry, off topic newbie question here, but since the Pro-53 can't play more than one note when Unison is enabled, how did you play the melody from Airwave, did you just make two instances of the same instrument? (I can't at the moment because I'm using the standalone version of Pro-53)
Don't read the following if you're trying to guess...
I'd say B again, it sounds a little cleaner. But damn close!
i used 2 instances you're right... that's the only thing i don't like about pro-53 when doing the unison thing... playing one note at a time... but just add another instance and you are fine.. and you can get some great sounding pads with it if you know what you are doing...
here is the preset file for the pro-53 for those who have been asking me for it... note, it sounds nothing like the full supersaw sound.. but sounds rather wimpy.. i must have spent 3 or 4 hours just tweaking the fx and equing and altering the patch itself just getting it right...

the file is basically like what the tutorial says
Glad you guys are having fun with it. Nice sounds.

Nevermind. I have no idea how to fix your problem.
I would suggest for the author to upload a *.p file.
hmm.. i dunno.. did you the following?
Open Pro-53
go to import cubase bank/preset
select the fxp file?
i know it sounds basic... but it should just open the preset file like that instead of a bank
it automaticly opens preset nro 111 and theres over 500 presets inside that fxb file.. i dont know..
can you please send the *.p* file to [email protected] ?
It sounds really nice.
