Infinityloop - Red Moon
Ok last time the server was horrible and nobody even bothered to listen to the song. So I finaly figured where I can host it temporarily so that people can listen to it and give me some feedback. Transfer rate is around 150k/sec +/- 50 depending on your location. Thanks so much and I hope you enjoy this dark and mezmorizing piece.
Oh the background info goes like this: There was a red moon eclipse here in canada last month right before halloween- and so I had this really weird vibe going on and this is what came out. I think its a pretty powerfull and driving dark melody that symbolizes the whole experience. I need your imput on it technicaly and acousticaly.
Cheers, Catalin
This'll be my last post for tonite...
Listening and reviewing:
1. Haha! I recognize that sample.."wah-woouu!"...tsk tsk! I thought at one point it would go well in some of my songs, but alas....you might want to consider takin' that outta there. It's a little too cheesy for the rest of the song.
2. I'm not enjoying the squeaky saws that much, but the breakdown at 2:00 is reallly cool. I'm a sucker for padded breaks, but it's getting a little long winded at almost 1 minute long with no changes/background fx/melodies. Might want to focus on that.
3. I think you would do well to lose the pounding kick if you're going for a dark track. For a song of the same type of mood, try downloading/getting your hands on "Nothing (93 Returning Mix)" by Holden and Thompson. Experiment with your drumkit and rhythms a bit. Add some Dr.Rex loops in there, if you have to - there's nothing wrong with cheating a bit as long as it's not noticeable (i.e. front and center beat.).
4. It's done.
So what did I think?
;)
wow, thanks for that wicked review- that was just what I needed and wanted. I think you pretty much hit it right on the head and gave me some incredibly usefull info that I had in my mind but needed to be reiterated by someone.
Very much apreciated once again.
