Best Toronto Sushi??
Your reccomendations here please.
We are flying in from Atlanta for NYE and am looking for the top spots for sushi and sashimi.
Thanks in advance!
any EDO! (i live across from one
) but it's really expensive
Sushi Rock at eglinton and yonge (just north on the east side) is good as well.
hope this helps,

| Originally posted by maddhatterradio Fancy and quality would be best. It is NYE so I imagine reservations would be a must. My girlfriend likes exotic creative rolls. I really love sashimi. Big Eye Toro and Blue Fin Toro are my favorites. |
The cheap ghetto looking one on the north side of Queen, east of John. I think it's called Sushi Bistro.
They have at least 3 people's choice awards on the wall.
lol
i just came home and got some sushi from the place in vaughan mills
gonna go try it out
The most upscale sushi place i can think of is on the corner of Bay / Elm, the latter being a small street several blocks north of Dundas. Finding Elm is pretty easy because there is a bright orange Pizza Pizza on the corner of Elm / Yonge. Going North on Yonge after Dundas, you can't miss it.
if you want good sushi at very affordable prices go to Sushi on Bloor.
If you want fancy sushi at fancy prices go to Katsura....best place i've ever been at.....very expensive though
Katsura
900 York Mills Rd.
(416) 444-2511
hope this helps

Anyone remember seeing on the news about how they had to freeze all sushi before serving? and even after it had been out if they were to reuse it they would have to freeze it or something to taht effect?
Obviously some of it is flash frozen(which wont effect qaulity) at sea cause we are nowhere near an ocean but from watching the news the quality of T.O sushi has gone down cause of it...
but im no sushi expert. just a few thoughts.

a lot of the places ppl have named are nice and affordable, but the places listed below are more costly, but worth it for special occassions- i love Lily.. it's more quiet.. more like a hidden gem, whereas as some of the other's are more trendy, I think you'd get a good meal w/ high quality fish at any of them.

You may want to check out:
VIP Sushi Resturant @ 8143 Yonge St, Thornhill Tel: 902-771-9861. It's a sushi buffet place. Just as great as if you order it in regular restuarants.
Unless of course anyone know any sushi buffet place in T.O. that serves fresh

Best Sushi place in T.O.
Definitely New Generation Sushi on Bloor St. (in the Annex, just west of Brunswick St., South side of Bloor)
Very good sushi, high quality but not overly expensive. Very busy/popular place. And they always give you stuff on the house. Nice atmosphere too. (I go at least once a week!)
