The Worst Vinyl You Bought 'Blind'...
We have all done it.you go into your local record store and are flicking through and you come to a record that is done by your fav artist that youve never heard of,or a remix that sounds interesting or even a tune recommended by your mates without ever hearing it and it ends up being shit!!
Hate that feeling.
The worst for me has to be by a mile....

cant say ive bought shit records before, but i have bought records that I cant play live cuz id feel ghey.
ie: For an Angel.
I once bought a "Progressive Mystery Bag" from a store - 10 randomly picked prog vinyls at a cheap price.
Out of the 10 I've only played 2. And the other one wasn't even prog...

i bought a christian vogel tune recently that is shite.
when i first started spinnin i bought some shit records from my record store just because i said "trance" on the store label. ehhh, i was young and dumb at the time.

Oh yeah, last summer I had to spin at this party and there were nothing but people who listened to pop music there so I had to get a bunch of cheesy garbage and some weird bootlegs to keep them satisfied. I think I've only played those tracks once.
Antahkarana - Pakal, on Fade Records.
I love Chris Fortier and Steve Porter, so I figured that being on Fade records this would be of similar style and quality.
Hated it from the first listen, and it went back to the store the very next day. Both sides had an absolutely intolerable, piercing wood-block percussion noise, seemingly designed to make my ears bleed. It was boring to boot.
I have two:
Beam Strategic - Encoder (Quad Communications)
Pete Moss - Late Night Up North (Ovum Recordings)
The Beam Strategic record is a bit too trancey for my tastes, but even with that, both songs aren't all that spectacular. Although the B side to this release, "Encoder", is a little better than the A side, it has an annoying little vocal sample which ruins the rest of the song for me. It's interesting also, because Quad Communications is a sub-label for Boxed (aka Global Underground).
Being a big fan of deep house, I thought I'd get this Pete Moss record. I bought it because of the name. You would think with the name "Late Night Up North", it would be a nice track. Wrong. The pads in this song are nice, but there really isn't any substance to it. Even Josh Wink's remix on the B side sounds like crap too. I guess you can't rely on the track name to make a decision...
Mary Kiani - 100%
Bought it for the Qattara mix. All mixes, including it were indescribably bad.
i'd be too tight not to have a listen at least once before i part with the dollars so i dont think i've had that experience.

When i first started buying vinyl i really, really wanted a 'rare' white label that no one else had but me. So i found this record with two Francesco Farfa remixes of a Donnna Lewis track. I gave it a quick listen on the TTs in the the vinyl shop, heard that it was total crap, and, sadly, proceeded to purchase it.
im ashamed to say.. i bought jurgen vries - the forest when i started collecting.

I've competed and won a couple online contests both here and on trance.nu when i didn't like the tracks much, that'd be my worst, especially the two "Tekara - Wanna Be An Angel" vinyls. Maybe someone would enjoy it a lot more than i, but all i greedily thought was "yay! free vinyl!" at the time
I was shopping in a used record shop here in Worcester, and I stumbled across a one-sided white label that simply had the letters "BT" typed on it. I nievely was praying that it was the one-sided promo of "BT - Fibbanacci Sequence".
You can imagine how happy I was when I brought it home and played it, revealing that it was actually, "BT - Never Gonna Come Back Down". 
D'oh!!

I listen to ALL before purchase... So this has yet to happen... just whoring through..

A while ago I got BT's "Movement EP" hoping to get full versions of some of the tracks on Movement in Still Life on vinyl. Imagine my surprise when I played it for the first time and realised the tracks were taken from the album and pressed on the vinyl like they were, only with a sudden fadeout in the end... completely unplayable.
Oh well, luckily it was a picture disc so at least I got something nice to decorate my wall with.

Especially Steve Murano remix is utter d**shit

Got to be Comanova's "Wishful Thinking" backed with a shocking Warp Brothers remix of Slusnik Luna's awesome "Sun" that me n my djing compadre bought on Incentive's Winter Sampler in 2001. Foolish newbies!
