Ashamed

Read the article in the star this morning, two people shot on board a TTC bus at 5:20PM yesterday, the bus was full and NOBODY WILL COME FORWARD. A friggin 11-year old girl was shot in the head and nobody wants to speak up, what is wrong with this city.

Article HERE

wow... poor girl, i feel sorry for the victims and the victims family.
I wonder if shooting the girl was an accident or just pure stupidity and disregard for life.

Either way, jail for life if u ask me. fukers

Posted by bARTovsky on Nov-29-2004 18:12:

Thats awful...

Its so damn shocking how no one is coming forward.... what kinda selfish every man for himself attitude is this?

"The TTC credited the work of the 37-year-old bus operator, who has been with the TTC for almost four years, for responding immediately by pressing the red emergency alarm button that dispatches police and emergency services"

/\ /\ /\ /\ /\ /\ /\ /\ /\ /\ /\ /\ /\ /\ /\

I wonder how long the response time was too...

And there you have it... the answer to this mystery.

Posted by Jayx1 on Nov-29-2004 19:05:

Patehtic. But what do you expect from the Jane Finch corridor?

Posted by richard raiban on Nov-29-2004 19:07:

i read the same article. very sad indeed for the 11 year old girl. all this happened because the guy who they were targeting got into a dispute with the shooter. i dont know how serious it was but to try & end someones life because of it really shows how weak & cold hearted the fugitive really is...

We're not talking about just anyone being shot on the bus. We're talking about an innocent 11-year old girl who was shot (in the head) in front of over a dozen people (not counting the shooters) and nobody is coming forward. How do people live with themselves. We don't have THAT big a divide between the ghetto and non-ghetto. Detroit has a Ghetto, an area where you call the police and they won't respond for several hours, no public transportation through the area, it's really the "other side of the tracks". We don't have that here, so it blows my mind that these people can witness such a thing and say nothing at all. It's not like they had to come forward at the scene, they could have easily called in by now if they're afraid for their own safety.

when people in my area see a crime being committed or even a car accident on the street they hardly think for a moment to stop and help out. i know this is a generalization on my part, but i also base it on a lot of observation just from my own experiences.

i just get a really cold vibe from people up here. my community has changed a lot in the last 20 years. i used to remember a time when the neighbours here actually knew each other. nowadays everyone likes to keep to themselves and not be bothered by external affairs. it's a very selfish attitude, but the reality these days it seems ..

I just saw this headline on a paper a couple hours ago in our kitchen.

Wow...how sad really...

Posted by tatgirl on Nov-29-2004 19:20:

See, if this happened in Mexico, an angry mob would probably beat the perpetrators to death, b4 the cops even arrived, lol!

I really don't know how people can be silent on such matters. What if it were THEIR loved one that got hurt? Do they really think these thugs on the bus are gonna seek revenge if they testify? Come on, they ain't mafia.

Posted by Expired on Nov-29-2004 19:23:

Classy..

Someone I work with was the only person to fill out a police report when a car slammed into the side of a streetcar he was on.

Too many selfish people out there that don't want to 'waste their time' helping others.

Expired,

Posted by kron on Nov-29-2004 19:37:

pathetic low life people. not only those damn thugs but the passengers are almost just as bad. what has this world turned into!

Posted by harcourt on Nov-29-2004 19:43:

When I travel anywhere, I always have a digital camera on me, for this very reason. Obviously using it with discretion, or I'll be the one with bullets in me, but you get the idea. People can't/won't come forward, I'll make my own evidence.

Posted by Kytracid on Nov-29-2004 19:44:

Wow. That's really sad to hear. I hope both the little girl and the guy pull through all right.

As far as no witnesses comming forward. Well, either they're all cowards who deserve to burn in hell, or whoever shot that lil girl is the devil himself, cause i can't imagine how bad ass someone would have to be, for me to carry that fear in me long after they have gotten off that bus -- especially after i've seen firsthand what they must have when those two got shot.

I don't think i'd be the hero whilst they had the gun in their hand, but damn, after those guys jumped off that bus, i would have definately gone to the police...

and then relocated...

and bought a gun...

naw fuck relocating, i'd just keep the gun clipped and sleep with it under my pillow.

PS. On a serious note, i hope someone does come forward with the information that'll put the assholes that did this in a cold, dark cell where they belong. Personally, I wouldn't be able to sleep at night if i knew i saw that, and did nothing afterwards. Witnessing something like that will haunt you for a long time.

Posted by monishb on Nov-29-2004 19:48:

******S!!

fucking hell i cant belive it not even one soul stepped up, i would have beat the misery out of the guy regardless whether he tried to pull the gun to my head

Whats even worse not saying a word about it, nobody has self responsibility, they will realise it only one day if something gruesome happens to them

Posted by StereoPrincess on Nov-29-2004 19:49:

this is impossible.

i think we are just not getting the updates as quickly as they are getting them.

there is no way no one will come forward. i think we are jumping to a quick conclusion about the ghettos and such. we just have to wait a bit until all the info is gathered.

Posted by LiANG on Nov-29-2004 22:19:

I'm sure the'll speak up. The witnesses are probably shaken up after the incident. I mean wouldn't you be if you witnessed someone getting shot in the face?

Posted by Playa24_7 on Nov-29-2004 22:26:

i cant believe the shit people do sometimes. it happens everyday, but never seems to hit home unless you hear it. an 11 year old girl, i mean wtf is in these peoples heads??

exactly. I heard it on the radio while getting ready for class this morning. why can't they take their shit elsewhere? why take it out in a bus?

If this were mexico we'd still be doing rotating general strikes about all the broken promises and tax hikes but this isnt mexico (or anywhere else for that matter)

We are working on becoming Detroit. Ive been saying it for 10 years now. This city no doubt is in serious decay. Now that major stores are shutting down and moving to the burbs its only a matter of time.

Posted by Durafei on Nov-29-2004 23:38:

damn.. this is a sad, sad day for Canada.

Your neighbours report on you when you are being too loud once a year during a party, yet when an innocent child gets killed - nobody says a word....

WTF is going on ??
