lolz0rz omg wut tablez duz i buy??? wuts bettar cd or vinil?

Skip to the last paragraph if youre busy, or something, or just hate the way a blabber...

Ok, so I need a hand.

As you may or may not know, i got into djing, and purchased 2 dns3000, and a pcv275 with my money, and the aid of my parents'...well...that didnt last long, because i ended up having to take the tables back for a refund until times were better to purchase equipment. I was embarassed that this happened so i pretty much just went about as if it didnt happen...actually i started posting alot here talking about dj equipment as a way of holding me over until i could get them back.

Anyways, the point is that my parents told me that i cant get tables again, however i'll most likely be going down to the states to get them, because equipment is so much cheaper there, and our canadian dollar is way up.

Now, i loved my denons (the short time i had them) but i cannot buy denon from the states, because of some weird policy they have. Technically i could, but if something went wrong i would have to drive all the way down there to get them fixed, and then make a second trip once they were fixed. So, i'll most likely be switching over to pioneer.

I'll be going to a guitar center(we dont have those in canada) because i hear that they are a good store, and that they match prices. I'm also going to try to get them to take canadian dollar at par, because i hear that alot of stores are doing that across the border, because our dollar is inching closer to being equal, and it also encourages us coming down there to purchase (gas is expensive)

So, to get to the point, i would really appreciate it if someone could point me in the direction of the cheapest price quote out there on the internet for a cdj800, and a cdj1000 that guitar center would price match. The reason i ask for both is that theres a chance i might be getting 1000s, but its more likely that ill be getting 800s, so low quotes for the 800s would be more appreciated. Also, if someone for some reason knew a crazy deal on an sldz, or other high/midrange cdj, i would appreciate that. Im not set on pios, just looking for whatever is a good player that i can get a good deal on.

-thanks alot.

Go for either the 1000's or the S5000's man...

Both are great... I am personally pulled towards the S5000's... however I didn't read all of you blabbering So my post is prolly useless..

isnt the sldz that horrid technics cd player?

My opinion is go with the CDJ1000mk2 if you can. Great CDJ.

I remember a while back when I was getting my decks (2 Years+), there was a site that was terrible to order from (some people never got their orders, delivery took weeks, etc.) but they were the lowest prices you could find advertised, so alot of people would get other places to match them. Perhaps someone remembers it.

Also, ebay seems a good option for CDJ1000's there are some buy it now for <900.

lowest I found with froogle or yahoo shoppin was

http://www.kylemusic.com/product/91...inyl-Turntable/

at 1149

Hope this helps.

Thanks for the help, like i said, its not a thread about which cdj i should get. I already know that the denons are not an option. So im pretty much just looking for the lowest price on a cdj800. Or possibly 1000...but more likely 800.

If anyone does remember this site, i'd love to hear it.

I don't think you could beat this price on the 800s

430

OMG! Thankyou sooooo much, god i hope guitarcenter will match that!

EDIT: just want to clear one thing up...how do i get stuff price matched? Do i screenshot the website, print it, and bring it with me? Or do they look the price up on a computer there?
If they take screen shot printouts i could see how a sick and twisted individual could make use of photoshop...

Oh yeah also, if i get an email quote from agipro, how do i get them to match that?

Posted by onceler on Nov-30-2004 04:19:

you need to get a quote from an authorized dealer. You might want to talk to dj tranz about doing this, he might be able to work out a deal and ship it to you. he is one of the boys from djmart.com.

Not a bad idea.

And yes, alot of times they wont price match unless it's from an authorized dealer. You could try and maybe email someone from guitar center or sam ash or something show them the link and ask if they can match it, and see what happens.

DJ Tranz is a great guy though. Gave me a great deal on my monitors when I got them last year.

Posted by beats and beeps on Nov-30-2004 04:29:

Does anyone know dj tranz's email?

I dont know if i can order online though, i dont have a credit card, and my parents wont let me use theirs for it...

We're going down to seattle this weekend anyways, despite whether or not i get my turntables, so it might be most conveinent just to pick them up while im down there.

Oh, and in regards to the authorized dealer thing, does this phon le karaoke not seem to be authorized?

You might wanna email them to find out if they are authorized, but from the name of the company and the site layout, it doesn't seem like they would be.

As for dj tranz, you can shoot him an email at http://www.djmart.com/contactform.html

Mention you are from TA etc, and see what happens.

If you can't use a credit card but you want to buy stuff online, you still can if the site accepts checks/money orders. If they do, go to the local post office and buy a money order for the amount it comes out to(there's probably a small fee on top of this so don't bring exact change). Snail mail it to them, and after they get it and cash it, they'll process/ship your order.

Fine with reputable shops, but I don't usually like doing money orders. It's a bitch to even try and get any thing back if they decide to cash the money order and not send you anything.

Posted by cryo on Nov-30-2004 23:53:

i've pricematched stuff at guitarcenter with etronic.com i dont know if they're authorized or not havnt really looked into it, but all i did was print out the page with the product and price showing and they pricematched it.

Posted by beats and beeps on Dec-01-2004 00:48:

Well so far the cheapest price i can find for a cdj800 from what is an authorized dealer is 495 at etronics.com

So if anybody out there knows of anywhere that sells it lower, let me know.

Also, has anybody in the us bought from "Sam Ash"?
Do they match prices like guitar center does?
Thanks.

ooh i wouldn't mind gettin some cdj 800s for $430

keep us posted

Damn good price on those cdj's

Posted by mikefasssy on Dec-02-2004 00:05:

getting a lil discount through djtranz is sweet, i got one for my hdj's, BUT beware that this means you will get it shipped to you, and i had to pay 70 dollars canadian for them to bring it through customs, cause they only ship via ups (not sure if thats changed now).

also, with denons, the 5000 has some badass features on it, but unless you are only a bedroom dj, keep in mind that the 1000 is the standard, so all the fun stuff you can do at home on your 5000's is pretty much useless at a club (unless you bring it yourself, which some sound guys hate heh)

Are you talking about cd players? or headphones? Because you said "hdj's" Does that mean you had to pay 70 bucks to get 100 and something dollar headphones accross the border?

yes, headphones, hdj 1000's. and yes again, i paid them 70 dollars to pretty much fill out a form, that was not including the shipping cost. it sucked.

Well, I phoned customs, and they told me i would not have to pay duty, just canadian taxes once i bring it across (14, or 14.5%) But thats not big deal because obviously i would pay those same taxes in Canada. My mum didnt beleive that i wouldnt have to pay any duty, so she phoned up some border canada thing, and they said the same thing (no duty.)

I just have to hope that guitar center will match them down below 500 us. Hopefully whatever salesman i get will be desperate, and match that 430 deal.

Posted by mikefasssy on Dec-03-2004 19:41:

its not a duty charge, its how much ups charges you to bring it across the border. i was super pissed and phoned them up and asked why it cost 70 extra dollars and they just gave me the round-a-round on the phones. didn't even get a real answer from anyone, just some nonsense about filling out forms etc

alternative: don't use ups if possible

As long as the weather is half decent tomorrow, my parents' car will be bringing it across the border.

I'm happy i'll be going this route, as i've heard some horror stories about damaged equipment due to ups, or fedex.

Double post:

Two questions for you american folk.
1.
From your experiences, would most guitar centers have cdj800s in stock? Perticularly the ones in Washington, such as their lynwood location, or tacoma.

2.
Has anyone had any luck getting them to match agiprodj.com's prices? Agipro is an authorized dealer, but they only give you low price quotes via email. If I print out the email, and show them it, should they price match it?

Thanks.

Posted by Cheetah86 on Dec-04-2004 00:48:

For question 1, they seem to have a lot of things in stock, and for something as common as the CDJ-800's, I'd assume they'd have em. If not, the salesperson might be able to locate another pair at another store and you can pick it up at the other store or he can ship it to the current store and you can pick it up there, or he can ship it to your home, etc. He'll want to do everything possible to sell it to you so he can get the comission on it.

For question 2, I'm not sure if their policy has to do with matching advertised prices or sale prices. It might be at the discretion of the salesman, because you can always just say that if he can't get it to you at that price you'll just buy it online(he doesn't need to know your situation). It's better for him to still sell you it because the company is losing the difference, not him. He might make a little less on the comission but it won't be much because its only a fraction of the difference, and it's better than making no comission.

Posted by onceler on Dec-04-2004 05:32:

Isnt Agi in Washington? You might have a better chance matching them if you are going to GC's in Washington. There have been reports on here w/ GC matching Agi. Also, when I was shopping around, the GC's by Chicago had tons of Pioneer stuff in boxes in the dj room. Finding the Denon or A&H mixers I wanted to play with was a different story. You could always call them ahead of time and aske the these questions.
