Does producing/listening to a particular style of music effect out overall mood?

I was thinking about what my mentality would be like if i listend to a 'moody, dark, negative' style of music non-stop all of the time. would i become depressed? if i listend to 'happy uplifting' music all the time would be on a constant high? i listen to a mixture of both, but have phases. They say music is powerful, and if good enough can provoke feelings and emotions.

does the music effect you at all do you think? for better for worse?

i almost never listen to happy music, and i'm usually in a pretty good mood and never really been depressed even though i have many reasons to be lol

yes music can affect my mood... but i don't produce. sometimes i like listening to "sad" songs when i'm sad though and it helps me feel better... and sometimes i hear a really uplifting song and it makes me feel great... i think most people feel this way. just judge a crowd's reaction at a gig when an uplifting song comes on or an awesome breakdown happens...

it does affect me a bit. a year ago i would only listen to dark tracks and it kinda coincided with a period where i was a bit depressed. i've later moved a bit onto crazier sounds with good attitude (what zabiela and holden spin) and i haven't been feeling that bad for a while.

it isn't directly proportional, but music can definitely tweak the way you feel sometimes
