-- Is Fly Agaric worth taking?

Question Is Fly Agaric worth taking?

I brought 12.5 grams of dried Fly agaric mushrooms as a spur of the moment thing while I was buying some magic shrooms. However I now regret it a little as I have done some brief research on the Internet which suggests that it can cause severe vomiting (worse than psilocybes) and that the psycoactive ingredients are considerably toxic. Is it still worth taking? Any previous trip reports would be appreciated

oh yeah...does anyone know how this stuff actually works on the mind? In other words do the chems bind to serotonin like shrooms and LSD does, or does it work in other ways?

From http://www.erowid.org - which I suggest you bookmark

FLY AGARIC
THIS DRUG IS ONLY INCLUDED TO WARN OF ITS CONSIDERABLE DANGERS. The Fly Agaric ('amanita muscaria') is the well-known red toadstool with white spots which appears in illustrations in fairy tales. It is not a true psychedelic drug and at best has unpleasant side effects. At worst it could kill you.

Effects are said to be dizziness, muscle twitching and possible vomiting after a half hour. This is followed by a drunken feeling and perhaps a light sleep lasting about two hours. Numbness may be present in the extremities. On waking feelings of great strength and hallucinations (especially of size) lasting about six hours have been reported. Overdoses can lead to convulsions, derangement, coma and amnesia. There are reports that this drug can cause ergotism, constriction of blood in the extremities of the bodies (e.g. nose, fingers etc) leading to gangrene. Death or permanent brain damage is possible from overdose (caused by respiratory paralysis). Kidney damage is also possible.

Neither the toadstool nor any preparation of it are controlled substances. They are not likely to be ever classified as such, since hopefully few will be foolish enough to try it.

This fungus isn't even in the same family as the psilocybes, so you WONT get any hallucinations...you might fucking die tho!!!! If i could be arsed to dig up my toxicology notes on mushrooms i would but AFAIK, this mushroom's nickname is the death cap?!

the mushrooms nickname is not the death cap.

fly argic IS a hilucinogen but thats mainly due to its slightly toxic nature. it would be pointless to take them over cubensis though, its like having speed cut with paracetamol instead of base.

however, it is nowhere near as toxic as a death cap or a death angel (for which there is no known cure).

lol ...well they are quite nice things them 'drugs'

After what I've read I doubt I'm gonna take them. Apparently the bad chems in Fly Agaric are converted into a much less dangerous (but still considerably toxic) chemical called muscarine one they are dried out at 170c or above which is the state these mushrooms are in. The Woman in the head shop told me that they weren't dangerous but I'm not taking any chances

not worth it, throw them away or resell them for a higher price.
