I need remixes for a track

This is the track:
http://www.dance-industries.com/track.asp?track_id=5190

Let me know if you want to remix it.

no offense buddy.. but i just don't think that this track makes any sense melodically...

try reading up on some music theory...

Posted by The Drow on Dec-04-2004 09:40:

Old track of mine...
I find it unique and that's why im searching for remixers.

Posted by Danne__85 on Dec-04-2004 11:18:

This track was.. Different.

I don't think a producer should ask people if they want to remix his/her track.
There are the people who should come to producer and ask to remix. But that's just my opinion.

About your track then.

I say like kewlness: Study some music theory and I also think you need to re-arrange the song. Sounds like you have put out some notes here and there. Sorry if I'm rude.

Did you have any thought behind when you made this track?

Posted by The Drow on Dec-04-2004 12:29:

Yes.
I tried to produce something differente.
As I said this track is one of my first but I think it's uniuqe on style.

Posted by alanzo on Dec-04-2004 18:16:

This guy sent me an MSN message a few weeks ago asking me to remix it for him.. heh..

I told him the same thing - it's terrible..

He seemed hell bent on the thought that I just didn't like his style

@ The Drow

Seriously, this is terrible, but don't give up.. I've been producing for 4.5 years and I have yet to produce anything that I think is worthy of a month of dedication from another producer..

But there's nothing wrong with asking people to do remixes for you, pros do it all the time. But it just isn't very commonly done here. However, I think a more neatrul title for your thread would of been "Does anyone want to remix my track?" - you're somewhat taking the offense by using "I need remixes for a track"

Posted by The Drow on Dec-04-2004 19:57:

I am going to remake it.
2004 remake...
so i'll make it much better and thats why im asking for remixers.
@alanzo
English isn't my mother language.
Didn't mean it to sound offensive.

Posted by Danne__85 on Dec-04-2004 20:10:

First make your 2004 remake and then maybe someone wants to remix it.

Posted by Beyer on Dec-04-2004 21:45:

Maybe you'll find some goa-trance'ers who could make you a remix? It sure was special, but not in a good way.. You said it was one of your early productions - why don't you make a new version yourself, and incorporate a BASSLINE, not just a continous bassnote all the way. Listen to some James Holden, and get some ideas there mate!

Posted by The Drow on Dec-05-2004 05:14:

I am going to.
But I want to post it here with some remixes.
if anybody wants to try tell me.
I'll finish the 3004 remake and i'lll send a remix pack.

Posted by Arctic Breeze on Dec-05-2004 11:43:

3004 remake? Damn!
You're right about on thing. It is unique, I have never heard anything like this

Posted by The Drow on Dec-05-2004 13:21:

wow you're an asshole, do us all a favor and NEVER post criticism on someone's track again. if you heard some of my older tracks, they're quite different from the ones i have now on my site

i was reading this post and was expecting something fucking terrible... but i kinda like the beginning, it'd be cool to hear a breaks remix of this, really tripped out. I'd love to do one but i have so many projects going right now, wish i could, man

maybe another time

Posted by messytechie on Dec-05-2004 22:46:

No i'm not being an "asshole" I'm simply being realistic. In any other case I'd say "I'll give it a shot at remixing it" but i'm not going to as there actually isnt anything there to remix. Two broken chords, some a bad kit with too much reverb and some horrible pads does not constitute a song and does not diserve to be remixed.

The only way your gonna get anywhere in this game is if you are the most critical person you know, because at the end of the day, people are nice and will say crap like "yeah its unique". And you're definitely not gonna get anywhere if you ignore people saying your stuff sucks, cos if someone says that, there is probably some basis to it. I know this. I have written a lot of shit tunes in the past, and when I've played them to people have said "this is shit". Which I am grateful for. Because you go away and think about why it is shit. Then you make something that isnt shit. And then you play it to those people who said it was shit before, and if they say "jesus, thats good" IT ACTUALLY MEANS SOMETHING.

I'm not having a go at you, your producing skills (now or when you wrote it) or just being a **** for no reason, I am saying it for one reason only.

It sux.

that's better than "this sux" because you actually said WHY it sucks

y'know, a year or two ago, if people said "you're track sucks" i would have nowhere to go or nothing to do about it. my track sucks and... well, that's it. yea it's criticism, but there's no constructiveness about it. If ALL of tranceaddict was people saying "jesus this is great" or "goddamn this sucks" people would get nowhere at all... you fail to see the concept of constructive criticism. To a point, it's offensive when you put work into something and then have someone take a giant dump all over it. Help the guy out and and give some good reasons to back up your claim. Or at least point out some good things and then some bad things... and how they can be fixed.

Saying shit like this just encourages people to stop trying. 2-3 years down the road, this guy could be signed, no thanks to your criticism. I was fucking terrible 3 years ago but people actually helped me and gave me decent advice besides "wow this is shit". Thanks to those people, I've been getting DJ attetion and have been played on numerous occasions. You on the other hand, are no help at all whatsoever. Way to go, techie, way to give inspiration to developing artists.

So, actually, yeah you are an asshole.

Sounds a lot like my first tune ever.
Keep it up, Drow
