australian winter
folks, i'm giving serious thought to moving to Australia in early May - late Sept.
i wanna go somewhere nice and warm, so i'm thinking somewhere north.. Sydney's north east? (i'd look for a map but i'm on 56k + dont have time).
what kinda weather would ye have in sydney during the winter?
i'm thinking it'd probably be better than an irish summer anyways..
Sydney's central east. An average winter day would be overcast, with a top of around 17. You get the odd shower every now and again, but it's nothing to cry over.
OoO, I can't wait ! I am moving to australia in januar, goinb to live there for almost a year
winter is very cold in australia: you HAVE TO put your t-shirt on
lol when i was there it was august and it was really nice. very mild weather for winter. i would definitely go.
move to florida...
yeah id say its mild, allthough cause i live here id say its cold in winter, but people in europe would think thats summer lol!
Summers are unbearably hot, we had the hottest November day EVER about 2 weeks ago, was 42.8 degrees then surrounding that we had high 30degree days.
lotsa beaches though so well worth it. so cmon down

Sydney has decent weather in "winter". It is usually quite mild/warm during the day with a temperature of around 17-20C. Of course, it gets colder at night and you might have to wear a jacket
It doesn't rain too much either (particularly because we are in the middle of a drought).
If you want really nice weather than you should go to Queensland, which is in the northeast of Australia and in the tropics. Sunny and warm all the time, the bastards

Haha, Sydney's Winter is shit!
Cold, windy, rainy, miserable. Its maybe nothing like you would get in some areas of the state, it obviously doesn't get below zero that often, and there is not much chance of snow, although you do get the occasional hail storm.
But Brisbane, and even better Cairns, is the place to be in Winter. You get about 3 months of blue skies, comfortable weather, and at night you may need to grab a jacket, but thats about it.

While the other states may have marginally better weather, Mebourne is such a better city all round, much better culture and night life. |
