question for my g4

i run logic 7, on a powerbook g4 17 inch, now..
i have 11 tracks
and the core audio is about to overload if not already

now.. i purchased an m-audio firewire 410

thinking that that would help but its not ..

any suggestions??

i heard somewhere that os x sucks in this type of thing compared to os 9..

what do you think?

thta has nothing todo with your audio interface. that's because your CPU run out of processing power..

What have you been doing with Logic ? Using all the FXs perhaps! If you are, make sure to freeze all the channels that are using any FX. Sometimes my computer has the same problem (not often) however that only happens when I'm using way to many things at once.
Example - Using Logic Pro, Reaktor, Reason 2.5 and Fruityloops on Virtual Pc ! If you have been using you computer for quite a while and want to use logic I would recommend you to restart your computer (Baby)
Hope it helps
Cheers

dallas, IKKI-ZUVK hits the nail on the head mate. I have the exxact same setup as you and you M-Audio FW410 Interface is not whats causing you the problems.

What you need is an abundance of processor power and RAM. I have a G4 Powerbook, 1.5GHz with 2GB DDRAM. I leave all my production work to be done on my Desktop and only use my Powerbook when playing out using Ableton or FS or when I transfer vinyl over using the FW410.
