Carl B - All Day / Radiance

Very nice EP if you ask me

All day is simply massive, first time i heard it was on TiC.be and it blew me away --> 9/10

Radiance is not bad either but not as massive as All Day imo.
Typical B-side track... --> 7.5/10

Got em both from audiojelly, what can I say, OMG
Simply amazing. I wouldn't call Radiance a "regular B-side" either, it almost tops All Day imo.

Top tunes for sure! Out on wax sometime in January.

Posted by Asperge on Dec-06-2004 19:47:

When I heard it at TiC I thought it was a new Ralphie B/Midway track, still think it sounds a lot like it! However nice tune!

8/10

Both are great ch00ns! All Day reminds me of Midway - Amazon

(And all day here: http://www.audiojelly.com/details.cfm?id=3794 )

Edit: Oops. No you can't...
Go to www.audiojelly.com, search for Carl B and you'll get a working link, though.

I heard the vinyl version on Waveforms yesterday by Yaz.

I am very dissapointed in Carl, he ruined the main melody. I wonder why he pitched up the melody with 1 octave, it sounds now like an average cheesy supersaw.

I'll stick with the TA promo version, 100000 times more powerful lead sound and thats what made All day so special for me.

Posted by 8Wonders on Dec-09-2004 22:36:

I don't know what you're talking about, the melody has not been changed, if it sounded pitched, then that's because the person spinning it pitched it up. Vinyl version and the versions you can purchase via mp3 services is the SAME.

No, it is changed, if you compared it to the promo he posted on the amateur promotion forum.
It's way better now though, IMO.

Believe me, the only thing that's changed is the mastering, trust me on this one

Posted by Jarjar on Dec-10-2004 21:01:

Ugh.
Old
New (released)

Besides, the intro is completely different, with the old one having more than the regular 4/4 kick, no hihat at the beginning etc.

Posted by 8Wonders on Dec-10-2004 22:36:

That must be a much earlier version of it, I don't remember the lead being lower or being phased. Needless to say, I prefer the newer version

All day is a brilliant tune, great respect to Carl B. I love melodic tracks. Radiance is cool, but not so cool as All Day. Waiting for vinyl

Posted by matty on Dec-13-2004 01:18:

indeed a wicked tune, All Day that is.....some of you guys need to frequent the Amateur producers forum...carl put this up a long time ago and people convinced him to send out promos...nice to see it get a release

Posted by Sunquest on Dec-13-2004 03:22:

hey DC
i have to agree with massiva, on the 1 lower octave version being truly the best, as they say, nothing beats the original, o well
great track, but i do prefer the TA promo instead
congrats carl, if u read this

Posted by Camwin on Dec-13-2004 03:42:

yeah there was a lot of debate on the anjuna forum whether they should keep it the same or one octave higher.

Posted by 8Wonders on Dec-13-2004 05:57:

Needless to say, what's done is done, no more changes

Posted by carl-b.mine.nu on Dec-26-2004 19:56:

Thanks for the great feedback!
Sorry to make some of you dissapointed with the new lead. I thought the low-phased lead would drown in a club.. thats one reason why I changed it.

i fucking love all day! on the face of it it's a really straightforward uplifting trancer but it's one that just hasn't aged at all for me & still sounds fresh, unlike most similar sounding tunes from that era that have been largely forgotten about. definitely in my all time top 100

i didn't like the original lead as much either; thought the final one suited it more & gave it a similar charm to midway, as someone mentioned. (on a related note, the new carl b remix of amazon is terrible what were you thinking carl??)

Carl B's on fire right now! Along with technology this is one of his better tracks.
