Where's the Addicts?

How many out there lacking fellow addict support?
I mean, I'm cranking down on some heavy trance and most folks around me are like WTF? Of course it doesn't help that I'm in the heart of Redneck country, but I turn more heads than the fools beating out rap on their rides. Thankfully, I got the wattage in my rides to smoke them!
At least most of the WTF is in the postive genre, meaning they've never heard of it (no kidding, no releases in US), but like it.

And you're about 12 hours from Atlanta. I don't need trance events to get into trance. I mean, WTF would I want to go to a trance event in the first place if I never listened to it?

please b!otch .. i live in the 9th ward damn it.. here, we listen to nothing but hip hop rap and ol' dirrty gangsta rap .. drop down and pop some niggas! .. other than that, i'm probably the only person in my neighborhood that listens to "real" trance, depending on what you consider trance .. others here listen to some sammy, ian van dahl, and orion too ... (you can either do the "whip" or "nervous" here .)

Well, dang that was what I was looking for! I'm feeling you homey! Keep "the stiff upper lip" as the Brits would say... Oh, Sammy don't count either!

Lol!!!

Time to setup the Tranceaddict Mobile Rave Unit - broadcasting quality music to the masses in Redneck land while scrolling COR threads/posts on a 10 foot high plasma display.

ya. that's it.

that's an excellent idea .. i would go for that .. which tranceaddict is filthy rich to sponsor this for us TAs here ??? i am dirt poor (the ghetto 9th ward damn it!) .. a walking rave from city to city, 24/7 non-stop mixing .. no lip-syncing .. no pre-recorded b.s. .. yes indeed! .. hahahhaa

Trance is just like beer. It can happen anywhere, but if you leave it out in teh sun, it will get warm.

I'm really not sure how the trance scene is down here in Naples - I've not lived here long enough to really learn a whole much about it. However, I get funny looks most places I go and blast it through the car speakers - not as though I even have a good stereo system, but this far south is plagued with migrants (that is, people who come here during the winter from New York and Canada ) and I just don't think they understand. Don't get me wrong though - it's still Florida, and you can't change that.

Example: I stopped at an intersection's red light one night, listening to trance as loud as I wanted, all windows down. The man in the nasty old pickup next to me started yelling at me, trying to get my attention over the music - he was pissed that the trance was making his dog in the back of the pickup bark so much.

Damn rednecks and their hound-dog haulin' ways!

I guess it's possible that the dog could have jumped right out of the pickup bed and into my car through the window to sever my jugular, but I was saved by the light turning green - I left that yokel and his mutt in the dust.

Not much you can do - just spread the word wherever possible. Burnt sets and mix CDs make great gifts for people you don't know all that well but suspect might have good taste in music.

I hear ya, but you can hardly buy a trance record down here besides Sammy, let alone get one on a plasmatron. I think the States have a problem releasing trance over here due to close marketing of our own redneck, rap, gansta, Britney, and other BS products.

Bump. I get the same reaction quite often, but when I'm pushing 1400W worth of power from the vehicle, then quite simply f*ck 'em. I'm a dye hard homey and will tell them to kiss my ass or the barrel of my .357 in a heartbeat.

lewis & clark college (portland): nice, diverse, liberal arts, laid back, etc. you'd think somebody here would listen to trance. no. fucking jack johnson and ben harper and that crap everywhere.

yet when I got some nu-nrg or pvd crankin', i get weird looks.

Most people that I talk to on a somewhat regular basis know that I listen to electronic music, but they've never ever said anything remotely like what you have all described here.

I've never gotten strange looks for playing it.

I've not been bothered for listening to it for over two years now...or rather, it's been over two years since someone has tried to harass me for listening to it.

I've had the occasional person try to tell me that because I listen to it, I do drugs, but that sort of an argument isn't a challenge at all, really.

Most people just seem to be pretty cool with it, even if they don't like it.
