Exclamation Need Amp?

I got a question iam all new to dj, and i was talking with some shity dj and he told me that iam forced to buy an amplifer,or the speakers wont work, iam gettion a yamaha speakers and i dont know if i need an amp. thx

unless your speakers are powered on there own(built in amplifiers)

active = powered = amp inside
passive = non-powered = external amp needed
