Grammy Nominations

Dance Recording: "Good Luck," Basement Jaxx featuring Lisa Kekaula; "Get Yourself High," The Chemical Brothers; "Slow," Kylie Minogue; "Comfortably Numb," Scissor Sisters; "Toxic," Britney Spears.

Electronic/Dance Album: "Kish Kash," Basement Jaxx; "Legion of Boom," The Crystal Method; "Creamfields," Paul Oakenfold; "Always Outnumbered, Never Outgunned," Prodigy; "Reflections," Paul Van Dyk.


i can't believe that involver didn't get nominated

go britney go!

I thought Involver was a shoe-in for a nomination.

yes i think 'involver' would be a good shoe-in .. oakenfold in there, because of popularity .. if pvd's "reflections" got nominated, then ferry's "right of way" should also be nominated ..

but a major reason why i think 'involver' was not nominated, because it is a mix cd, and not a production cd.

Involver was not your typical mix CD. It was the most unique, well put together CD of the year. Involver not getting a nomination is a travesty.

Creamfields got nominated and that is a mix cd. Oakenfold supposedly re-edited some tracks although I couldn't tell the difference. And of course the tracks on Involver were reconstructed and remixed by Sasha & Co.

The reason why I think Involver didn't get nominated was because even though the category is Electronic/Dance Album, all of the nominees are more "dance" oriented than Involver, even though it is still an electronic album.

but you know .. oakenfold is oakenfold .. it seems everyone relates electronic dance music to paul oakenfold .. go figure .. so they more like hand him the category nomination, without looking at the cd.

i remember reading an article on here awhile back about how Sasha was going to be on the nomination committee for the grammy's. maybe he didnt want to nominate himself?

Lol!!! I never thought I'd see the day Britney Spears is nominated for a Grammy!!!

I'm glad the Grammy's made these categories, it's a start in the right direction and the nominee's aren't half bad.

How much do you wanna bet that these categories WON'T be televised?

i think it depends on who wins. obviously if britney wins then they will televise it and everybody will know she is the ub3r artist for teh dance.
