-- Heisman Trophy, Who's Your Pick
Heisman Trophy, Who's Your Pick
i did not really get to see all the players that much, from what i saw of peterson he was really good, jason white is good. but i think leinhart might win this year, because he put up impressive numbers, despite not having mike williams there this season and steve smith was injured most of the time
either peterson or leinart....I can't make up my mind on who really deserves it
but I think leinart will get it because he's a junior
it's the guy who got most of the hype the past week. petersen and bush are out, cause they are freshman (and really good ones by the way) .. so it's up to smith, white, and leinert.
i like smith, but he will not get any respect, since he plays for Utah. white hasn't been getting consistent on a time to time basis. i take leinert also. i wouldn't be surprised if we see the first freshman to win the heisman. reggie bush.

Bush is a sophomore. Plus, he's scored multiple touchdowns throwing, receiving, rushing, AND returning kicks. He's the best all-around.
Leinart, on Bush: ``It's tough because of the situation we have here -- he can only get the ball so much,'' Leinart said. ``I think he will be a Heisman Trophy winner before he's gone. He deserves it.
``He's the best player in college.''
But, honestly, if you look what the kid from Utah has done, he's by far the most deserving. The spirit of the Heisman trophy is both to award the best player AND the player who most impacts his team. Isn't it obvious that USC and OU would be good without one of their two studs? Utah, on the other hand, probably wouldn't.
"Smith has thrown for 2,624 yards and 28 TDs with just four interceptions and has rushed for another 10 scores."
That's more TD's AND yards than either Leinart or White.
Give it to Smith.

| Originally posted by Omegasox I wish it was the case, but a major power will win the Heisman. If anyone, I hope Bush wins it. If he got the ball more, he would undoubtedly be the best player, but he rarely gets more than 20 carries a game. No matter who wins it, Bush will be the best NFL player out of the 5. |
i think leinhart won because he lost some of his good receivers this year but still had awesome stats. even though jason white is a really good player, i think it hurt that he won it last year and then lost the last two games of teh season and had bad games. leinhart also lead the team many times when the running game wasnt working, like in the notre dame game. anyways, good job to him for winning, now he needs to win a nat'l championship to show he really deserves it
apologies that i stated bush as a freshman ..
but not a shocker peterson was second, and jason white was a distant third .. peterson was more of a viable asset to the oklahoma offense than white .. if you look at the offense now, you would obviously see the oklahoma offense miss peterson more than white, if either one got injured.
