Karma n stuff

you believe?

As in, when something bad happens to you, unexpected or anything. Do you believe that that is because you did something wrong in the past? Because you didnt 'follow the 'correct' line' etc.

Or when you do alot of good deeds, good fortune will come to you.

I personally dont believe it, no matter what i do, good things or bad things, still bad shit happens to me

I don't believe it. It's a load of bull. :]

Me 2, but still im like.. what if it WERE true. If i did something else, would this or this hospital report about me be different? ( that was just an example )

Karma is a load of shit, just look at people like donald trump and oprah and hugh hefner, I'm sure those people have done some really bad shit and they still got it good. If karma worked they wouldn't have invented viagra until after hugh hefner was dead, no use hitting in nails with an oyster.

What the hell did the african people do to deserve hunger and stuff? And then America going and bombing people is all good.

I think karma is more a message to be good to others because that's how you'd like to be treated kinda deal. If you start feeling guilty about being too bad then it'll start affecting you in your life and bad things will come. But if you have no conscience then karma won't matter coz you'll do bad shit without thinking about.

Also, bad karma might be subjective, to one person it might be bad, and to another it might be good.

to believe in karma, you must first believe in reincarnation. at least in the true sense of the word. so that's rough.

karma's not really a later in life thing, although it is to some extent
from what i understand of it, if you total all the deeds of all your lives (for believers in reincarnation), then the good deeds would equal the bad deeds
that sound right to anyone?

I believe in the saying that good is rewarded with good and evil is met with due retribution... however, what the definition of "good" and "bad" is can be left up to each individual to decipher...

The "evil-doers," "murderers" and "black market organ donor gangsters" supporters can affirm this... (sorry a dark joke for a serious subject.)

I also have come to understand that the good and the evil are separate by nature.

I believe in it to an extent.

I believe I lead a decent life, and as such have been pretty lucky throughout all of it. I think being positive in itself also plays a part though.

Good things do happen to good people.

Karma, (and a lot of religion, for that matter), is an idea that allows people to feel better when shit happens to them.

"That guy just broke my tail light and drove off! Well, I'm sure something bad will happen to him down the line."

It's a cop out if you ask me.

Posted by zig on Dec-13-2004 18:15:

Couldnt agree more the above post karma and religion basically allow u to feel better when shit happens but people that have faith especially in really bad situations like the death of close ones or something..really get something out of it..hence the expression blind faith..because nobody really knows of an afterlife if it exists at all

To believe in Karma you have to believe in reincarnation. Karma only applies to your next incarnation. That means you can do all the bad things you want in this life without any negative reprecussions until you are reincarnated as a piece of cow shit or a roach or an untouchable etc. It doesn't mean if I do some bad stuff today then something bad is going to happen to me in a few years.

Thanks for the info Siddhartha.

I believe it now - I've had certain things happen with similar situations and outcomes that were FAR BEYOND coincidence... I too used to believe it was all crap, until one day I got a reality check.
