The producers of the film claim that Christian Bale dropped from about 190 pounds in weight down to about 130 pounds in weight to make this film. They also claim that Bale actually wanted to drop down to 110 pounds, but that they would not let him go below 130 out of fear that his health could be in too much danger if he did. His diet consisted of one can of tuna and an apple per day. His 63 pound weight loss is said to be a record for any actor for a movie role. He since gained the weight back.

Yeah, I've really been meaning to see this flick. You know if it will still be in theatres by next week? I will finally have some time to go see it on break...

it's still playing at the angelika...

It's playing in the Angelika - Houston & Bway...

Bale plays Trevor Reznik, a factory worker. He lives alone in a desolate town and is literally dying of insomnia... things start to go wrong when he meets a man named Ivan in the factory parking lot. Ivan and other people begin to haunt Trevor's thoughts... post-its appear on his refrigerator randomly, lol... Trevor's only contacts are a prostitute who is also his friend and a waitress he met at a coffee shop. In the end, he begins to think that Ivan is trying to kill him and that everyone has betrayed him... he gets really paranoid and crazy. There's a twist in the end that explains everything that's been happening to him.

Condensed version from imdb.com: "An industrial worker who hasn't slept in a year begins to doubt his own sanity"

Thumbs up to the movie, go see it...
