This pic must have passed around a thousand times.
I won't be surprised, when I am 50 years old, I'll see this on the message board again.

actually, she meant it seriously... read her posts in that other thread... i think she judges tiesto way too harshly, but then shes the one workin in a record store, so she must be right

It's a joke...lighten up ppl. I don't work in a record store. A DJ playing is a performance subject to critique. I go for the music not to eat pills & get laid like some ppl.

Posted by Eugene on Oct-22-2001 21:44:

Well, actually, I'd have to agree with twilogoddess on this one.
Tiesto is becoming more and more like Oakie -- and I hate that!

The less time he spends with Oakie, and the less influence he gets from him, the better. Tiesto should remember his roots, should maintain his innovation in terms of track selection and stuff, and in my mind I certainly do NOT want to associate him with Oakie!

Oakie is a lamer who playz the same slow shit & needs to retire...

Tiesto should always be cool, bring us new stuff "on the edge," and KEEP THE BEAT GOIN'!

not trying to change the subject right but like the way u said about your there for the music not to eat pills I hope your not trying to say that people who do drugs aren't there to enjoy the music?

No shes just saying that SHE knows more than anyone else, and she just uses the general category of drugs to lump everyone else together. You know, if she tries to make us feel inferior we actually will...whatever, its not worth the time. TG, I dont want to incite a riot or anything, but if you spent half the time you spend bashing oakenfold/tiesto on something more productive, that could be a major breakthrough! Sorry, late/

now whos' crying???
cmon now..

but i have to agree with biznology... i dont know how some people live by criticizing the work of good djs... i dont understand how do they even manage to breath air..cause it is like a main thing for them.

just CHILL.. everyone!!!!

Hmmm if this is meant to be a "funny" thread then its in the wrong forum

A lot of the points are valid, any one who "performs" for the public is open to critique but i dont see this thread as a critique on Tiesto at all, but an attempt to ridicule him.

Twilogoddess, can u give a valid arguement or a reason for comparing Tiesto to Oakenfold ?
We all know you dislike Oakenfold anyway and go out of your way to ridicule Oakenfold at every given opportunity so instead of doing the same with Tiesto, lets hear why you want to compare him to Oakie.
Otherwise this has been a pointless thread and a waste of time !

Peace

i agree Tiesto need to stop trying to be like Jokenfold. When he was in Dallas last week his set sounded kinda lame. He's spinnig more and more Perfecto track. For example he spun songs like ppk-resurection and schiller-das glockespiel. there's so much good trance to go around...no need to start spinning Jokenfold's songs.

Not meaning to disrespect you but she said it was a joke...if you feel this was better suited on the humor forum then move it rather then challenging her. You mods move threads all the time...so move this one and then it won't be "pointless".

No Disrespect taken Twilochick
and yeah we do move threads etc to where we think they may be better suited, but in this case cos of the replys to this thread i think it needs to stay here, cos some of the replies are talking about tiesto's Djing and track selections so basicly what this forum is for.
And please dont misunderstand my intention with twilogoddess, it was not meant to be a challange but is a genuine interest of my part to know why twilogoddess feels the way she does about Tiesto.

Peace

TwiloG, if you don't like Tiesto, or his track selection, why do you go to see him? Are you afraid you're going to miss something? Then you might not "know it all."

Oakey spun acid house, then drum & bass, then goa, then trance and little bit of other genre here and there, every now and then.
Tiesto has been spinning mostly trance all these while.

Tiesto trying to be like Oakey?
More like Oakey trying to be like Tiesto.
Please, get your brains sit up in the right position.

I'm not trying to ridicule Tiesto. I love him for the tracks & remixes he's done over the years. But No one can refute Tiesto has been recyling the same old tunes like Oakie does. I saw him this past sat and I trainspotted his entire set. I'm not bragging...I'm a tad disappointed. I didn't pay $40 to hear anthems from 99. Those tunes are great but they've had their time. I thought this pic was hysterical. I had good time watching Tiesto he was very animated & energetic. I would have preferred to hear a track & be like "OMG, what is this? It's awesome!".

Nooooooooooooooo. U misunderstood what I meant. 2 ppl can be at the same party & have 2 totally diff experiences. Everyone's perception/review of the DJ/party is relative & subjective. Going out to hear Tiesto or PVD is like a concert for me...so the track selection is crucial. My goal is to dance, if i'm not feeling the music I don't dance. Some ppl will say "DJ X" played the best set when in reality it sucked but b/c they took 5 pills it was amazing.

Not everyone does drugs & I'm not putting anyone down who does them.

Quite the contrary, actually I've recieved countless pms from ppl saying how informative my threads/posts are & they immensely enjoy reading my indepth detailed reviews.

I have to agree with Twilogoddess on this

I love Tiesto , for me he's the 2001 DJ/Producer of the year , he gave the best live set i heard this year , we had a wonderful night when he came to Montreal . However i think he's going in the bad way , when i noticed he played the same damn tracks in Quebec City , Montreal , Toronto & New York , it disappointed me ... i think he should be creative every night , i don't mind if he plays a couple of the same tracks , but when the set is 89 to 90% identical , then it's pathetic ... that's just my 2 cents

dude, just how many records should he bring with him? wtf?! youre asking him to spin different tunes everynight?? he brings a limited number of records on his tour, and thats why he plays the same tunes... think before you post some stupidity like that... if he were in europe close to his record store, but he's travelling half way across the world!!!!
