Argh! Darn Parking Permit Idiots!
For the first time in 2 years I didn't receive my permit renewal by mail. I got a $30 ticket this morning, and have to leave work early to hit the East York Civic Centre and get my permit. When they checked their system, there was no reason why it shouldn't have been sent (I sent an address change via email months ago).
Has this happened to anyone, and how do I get out of paying the ticket without having to go to court? Will a letter and a photocopy of my permit suffice?
Unfortunately, too, I'd slept in and was later for work. Nasty shock when I have the "tuesday blues". 
is the ticket still 20 bucks? if it's before 7 days of getting the ticket just go the Meteo Hall on your lunch or whatever and tell them what happened. show them the permit and they won't make you pay. if the bitch at the window gives you attitude just ask to speak to her supervisor, they should get rid of it no problem.
something like this has happened to me before. they sent me the wrong area parking permit and i got a ticket when i put it out.
It's a thirty dollar ticket now! That's so frusterating to have to take time out of my work day to run around and pay parking to fix their stoopid mistake! Thanks for the tip, though! I'm hoping the letter and photocopies via mail will cut it!
if you just got it this morning tho, it is still not in the system so you can go get it cancelled within the week.
i think i believe it takes 15 days.
I got a $30 ticket too today! I thought I had til late Dec to renew, but it was due Nov 30. I saw the ticket when I left to work today. Can't possibly renew it today, since I came to work 2 hrs late already cuz I needed more rest this morning. 
Damn. Does it seem everybody needs more recovery time from the weekend?
parking tickets are the worst because they are barely worth fighting.
but I suggest fighting it because thats why they give them out so often and win because no one can afford to take off work, go downtown, pay for parking to fight a 20 or 30$ ticket.

Man, it's cold today. I ran around (after being late myself) and got my permit and fought the ticket. Everythings taken care of, but I can't stay late today (going to see Vera), and my stress/bullshit meter is overloaded (due to Tuesday blues). I'll have to make it up tomorrow. My job is slow until the NHL strike is resolved.
Still laughin' tho.

If you have the receipt or some way to prove that you had purcahse the permit before your got the ticket you should be fine.
Sleep? I suggest pulling a Costanza with a little alarm clock shelf under your desk..
I think I need to hit a home hardware and make some 'adjustments' to me desk now.

im at YorkU right now, and there is an abandoned piece of land which was used for construction outside my window...well one guy parked there, so others followed.
and the parking attendants just came by and gave them ALL tickets, 
just thought it was totally relevant to this thread, lol

Well it sounds like you all had one of the shittyist days! Sorry to hear! Sucks that you both got tickets, but I am sure you will have top still pay , but hope you guys set up something so you will always have this on time from now on � receover recover, stayin up late all weekend doesn�t pay off � but to me 5am is stayin up late �
***** if it makes you feel any better � last night I was holding my 5 dollar bill and then the subway was comin along towards me (going home) and the damn five blew in the wind fromt he subways strengtgh passing me by
! the way i see it, we all lost of transportation!
also moving day - everything went smoothly with the van rental until i returned it and was backin' it up at the lot and dented a wee bit
they fortunatly neer CaUGHT the crime! *~*
have a better day - and see you all when you are rested up!
