Exclamation Sony PSP Defects Reported

Sony PSP Defects Reported

Posted by Zonk on Tuesday December 14, @01:08PM

from the psp-means-please-send-parts? dept.
Among many to report on this issue, OneHungLo writes "GamesAreFun.com is reporting that several defective PSP units have been shipped, suffering from problems such as dead pixels, broken UMD drives, air bubbles in the screens, dust in the screens, and the analog "nubs" not working, or actually falling off. They also have a video of a UMD popping out of the PSP as it's running, due to the unit being twisted/turned. I wonder how long it will be until Sony issues an official statement about this?"

i was thinking about that sony HD mp3 player. it's the smallest 20GB mp3 player.

keep in mind one thing: the more functions any electronic piece of equipment has OR the smaller the equipment gets, the better the chances of it breaking down or being shipped with a few factory defeacts.

LOL... Sony's learning the hard way that you can't compete with Nintendo in the hand-held market... just another notch on the axe.

RIP: Game Gear, Neo Geo Pocket, N-Gage

Pierre, keep in mind that the NW-HD1 does not play mp3s. You have to convert it to ATRAC before transferring it to the device and you have to use the proprietary software. That's Sony for you.
There is the NW-HD3 coming, which plays mp3s, but again you have to use their software (Sonic Stage) which wraps the mp3 so that you cannot copy it to another computer. Pain in the butt.

Compete? They've already won.
