Sid Meier's Pirates!

I just got this game yesterday (belated birthday gift), and OMG. I think think that this game is one of the best comp games I have played in a long time. I've only played for a couple of hours, or so, but all I can say is "Wow!"

Anyone else played this game? Thoughts?

Pirates! was actually Sid Meier's first game. I have a copy of the original, including the box, map, manual, and 5.5" floppies. It came out in like 1987. This new version is just a remake. It's more or less the same game, save for a few new elements.

Great game, though. I've played quite a bit of it. (The new one... used to play the old one like a fanatic.)

Played it almost non-stop for about 3 days in a row, beat it twice, got bored, uninstalled it, and just reinstalled it this morning. Great game.
