I been using www.hostrod.com for my hosting... pretty cheap and they give you a ton of bandwidth, 40 gigs, 800megs of space, unlimited MySQL databases, unlimited email accounts, unlimited subdomains and is like $6 a month or something.

Tho there site hasnt been updated in a year....

looks good to me, but i was wondering what host trance addict uses since it has plenty of sets and tracks up for download. Swamper must have a great host. Or if anyone has anything similar to what Swamper uses... if not I'll just go with Nou's suggestion.

-Stable 512k UP
-99.5% Uptime

You are offering hosting off your DSL line? What a ripoff. If he pays a couple more a month, he will get the bennifit of being connected to a true hi-speed line.

If you are going to offer hosting, do it the right way and dont try to make other people pay for your cable/dsl internet connetion.

lol...people pay with my connection and are fully aware it is a cable connection and have no problems with it. More disk space and bandwidth per month equal up to what you could get on a 100mbit line

Don't kid yourself. First of all, you never stated it was on a cable connection, if someone wasn't familiar with connection speeds and what not, they wouldn't know until all of a sudden it was too slow.

Secondly, more disk space and bandwidth per month don't mean crap if your site runs slow as heck. And no, it doesn't come close to what you can get w/ a 100mbit line. Heck, a T1 maxes out around 140k/sec or so. Your line is 1/2 of that for what counts, the upload speed. So you are giving a max of 80k/sec. If you don't include any of your surfing and have 10 clients on, each getting their mix downloaded at the same time, you are around 8k/sec. That is HORRIBLE. What happens if you have 120 clients, each getting a mix dl'd at the same time? These are all the reasons why you pay for hosting and don't have it hosted at your house. When you pay for hosting, you get the luxury of being on the fast lines. It isn't too difficult to find hosting that offers 1GB storage (which is way more than you need - an average dj mix is < 100MB) and 100GB bandwidth (again, way more than you need until you build up an online following) for cheap.

Plus, it is prob. really difficult to use up 100GB of bandwidth per month at the speeds the site runs at.

LOL

LOOOOOL

My friend ran hosting off of his cable connection back in the day, he thought he was hard-core and underground. I just laughed.

Sir, most todlers can figure out which shapes go in what hole better than your ability to understand bandwidth. Guhh that was weak analogy I think, but at least I get it.

But yea... those canaca plans looking freaking dope. I might sign up when I get more cash.
