A*S*Y*S - Acid Save Your Soul (3x12"/CD)

Rumours have been circulating about this one for a while, but TTX has finally made it official. The album will be out on Jan 17th, containing among other things the unreleased track "We Call It Acid", Paul van Dyk's edit of No More Fuckin' Rock 'n Roll + two additional new productions on the CD edition.

www.tracidtraxxx.de

I guess it'll be just be a compilation of the previous ASYS-releases + one new track, like the Plastic Boy-album. Still, We Call It Acid is one of the best ASYS-productions yet IMO, and worth getting for sure if that's your cup of tea.

note: PvD releasing another one of his edits sure throws his "I don't make any money off of my edits"-arguement into question again..

Fuck A*S*Y*S.

"No More Fuckin' Rock & Roll" steals from the Prodigy.

Go listen to "Voodoo People" from "Music for the Jilted Generation".

Fucken thieves.

it's a remake of, and they've never said it wasn't, it's not the first time someones accused them without knowing the story & it won't be the last.

go sit in the corner and hang your head in shame

Hate to say it, but The Prodigy - Voodoo People (Eskimo remix) is better IMO.

Posted by SYSTEM-J on Dec-18-2004 13:52:

Hate to say it, but the original mix of Voodoo People hammers any wannabe psytrance remix of it.

Is that a remake of D Mob's "We Call it Aciied[sic]" or a totally different track with the same name?

What he said. They got permission to sample the tune as well, otherwise Kai would never have officially released the tune on his label.

And that Eskimo Remix of Voodoo People is pathetic. Slapping a psy trance beat underneath the original hardly consitutes for a remix in my book.

Yeah well Liam got the idea for the riff from Nirvana - Very Ape. That thief.

No More Fuckin' Rock & Roll would be better if there was no voise

Then you'll love PvD's edit.

He took the guitar riff straight from Very Ape, but the main riff he composed himself.

It's about time, but pretty late as usual. I reconstructed this nearly four months ago. I guess a vinyl version would be handy, though.

i heard the PVD edit on one of his sets, but it sounds like in ihs version there is no drumb break like there is in the original

How much does that make this year? 3 edits? 4 edits? in relation to how mandy edit/reworks he has made, this note is just pathetic

You miss my point. PvD has always argued that he makes no profit of his edits whatsoever and that they are only for his own sets. This arguement falls completely flat once he decides to release them.

I get ur point but i don't think he really makes money with one of his edits being released on TTX.

Also it would be kinda boring if Vandit would release exactly the same tracks (i.e. holding on to nothing) so they sometimes include the pvd edit... so whats the point? you want to blame him for that?

It's the fact that he claims he doesn't want to make any money or attach his name to his edits yet proceeds to do that exact thing afterwards that I find quite dodgy. The PvD Edit of Holding Onto Nothing was on the Xtravaganza release as well.

It's obvious that he realizes that there is a market for his edits and decides to make use of it. That would be OK if he didn't claim what he does regarding them.

No, it wasn't.

If he really wanted to make profit out of his edits he would release everyone he has ever made and i don't see him do that.

That has more to do with whether labels want his edits or not than his will to release them me thinks.
