PAUL VAN DYK ATLANTA POSTPONED - Wednesday April 13th 2005

We regret to announce that Paul van Dyk has to postpone his show on January 27th 2005. Basically it comes down to him not being able to do this date. The earliest date that he could reschedule is Wednesday April 13th 2005. This date has been 100% confirmed

PVD is truly sorry about having to cancel his performances and the Atlantadate will be rescheduled for Wednesday April 13th 2005. All presale ticketswill be honored for the new date, or a refund if you prefer. We wouldlike to remind everyone that ticket agencies are independent companies. Ifyou do choose to get a refund, unfortunately you may lose the servicetransaction fee they charged and if you planned on going to therescheduled date, you would be charged that fee again.

Liquified were looking forward to this event as much as anyone, and we
apologize for this unexpected situation.

legitimate being he's busy and liquified couldn't actually get him to play jan 27 from the beginning. i don't see why liquified can't
schedule something just because it conflicts with some other promoter...if you want to keep people coming, you should schedule it and not have people wait a year. i guess i'm saying this because i'm infuriated and highly disappointed,...unless he's playing an extended set, there's no way i'm going. this is ridiculous. i'll see him in miami so that's good enough for me.

and wat burn relations with other promoters or booking agencies over PVD. Sorry kiddie, rememeber this is a business

Posted by arturob on Dec-19-2004 06:33:

hello,

i am going to be brief but this is how gigs and tours work.

for example, paul was originally booked to play on january 27th in atlanta. a few weeks later, the management/bookings agency workout a 3 weeks tour for paul, edgar and jerry bonham to play in south america.
with this being said, it would not make sence to play down there, fly to usa, and then go back. flight costs, hotel, transporation, as well other things have to be covered and allocated while planning the tour length.

sometimes it is not up to the promoter to decided whether the dj play or not.

all the best,

x arturo

youre right arturo... i don't place any blame on the people at liquified, and really can't blame paul himself... i'm just really dissapointed in his management for setting up dates/changing them/adding tours/removing tours/etc... i'm sure there's reasons for it, but it's human nature to be pissed and look for a scapegoat

wow you sound so professional. i'm sorry i'm stupid for not knowing the business of booking/touring.

EXCEPT uhhh...i already know that. i said in my post that obviosuly he couldn't be booked jan 27. so what's the difference in what you said and what i said?

thanks for clearifying nothing.

trying to make what clear? what did you say that i didn't know? i just remember a promoter saying that he wasn't going to schedule it sooner because it conflicts with other promoters. that's my point. i know that it's probably not anyone's fault and that it wasn't meant to be until april 13. i'm just HIGHLY disappointed because it seems like it has been not only once or twice, but completely repetitive...
