Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince... COMPLETED!

Rejoice Harry Potter fans.

"The author of Harry Potter has given her fans an early Christmas present: a note on her official site stating that her sixth book, Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince is completed and turned in to publishers, who are expected to announce a release date within 24 hours."

Message from J.K. Rowling:

"I know you all expected this to happen on Christmas day, but I was sure that those of you who celebrate Christmas have better things to on the day itself do than to fight your way into my study, whereas those of you who DON'T celebrate Christmas would definitely prefer not to wait until the twenty fifth so...

'Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince' is COMPLETED and has been delivered to my English language publishers, who hope to announce the publication date within 24 hours.

Although I have joked about HP&THBP racing my third baby into the world, I have in fact had all the time I needed to tinker with the manuscript to my satisfaction and I am as happy as I have ever been with the end result. I only hope you feel that it was worth the wait when you finally read it!

what's funny, is when i first saw the thread title, i was reminded of VB's post... LOL.

although there will be long lines and everything, the harry potter mania thing has died down because she didnt write fast enough, stupid on her part i think.

All customer orders for Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince, (with the exception of ship to home orders) must be entered into the system as reservations, not ship to store orders (see diagram below).
Customers who make advance reservations will receive a discount of 40%, when they pick up their book on or after July 16.
All existing ship to store orders must be manually reentered as reservations by next Friday, January 14. All existing ship to store orders will be canceled during the next week. Only Reservations and Ship-to-Home orders will stay in the system.
If any cancelled ship to store orders appear on the Contact Customer Report, you do not need to call the customer. A hold slip will print as long as the ship to store order has been manually reentered as a reservation.
Do not place local orders for any reason. All local orders will be canceled.
Harry Potter parties may be scheduled for the night of July 15th. Further information to come.

Interesting update:

Gary Oldman/Sirius Black will only be appearing in his CGI form in the Goblet of Fire movie. If true, this probably means Sirius's head will be the only part of him appearing in the movie (think fireplace scene).

Although the GOF was about double the pages of POA, they're still going to cram it in to 2.5 hours so children will be able to watch it without getting bored. FFS, why not another 30mins at least.

What's more there will be no Dursleys, no Mrs WHEASLY

sounds like it's going to be crap for anyone who likes the books. Sirius' death in OoTP wont have the same impact unless they make him a significant part now.

cant wait to see how poor the 5th film is considering how much material in there that there is.
