Okay so now the goodies

Err sorry for misleading...never had equipment before.

i hope you really like spinning, b/c i would say thats way too much to spend on a first setup. I think people should try to learn on few crappy gear so when they switch to nice stuff they will respect it more.

But damynnn, how much did you spend on vinyl yet??? thats the most important

Posted by fr0st on Dec-21-2004 17:59:

Nothing is wrong with buying technics.... But the speakers and the mixer is way overkill.....

Posted by Greedy on Dec-21-2004 18:12:

i think hes straight with vinyl for now. Im buyin John Vesta - Gull from him in the future!

GODDAAAM!

Posted by djtrinity on Dec-21-2004 20:38:

Hello!

well i hope u enjoy spinning.....for that price u better or just brainwash your self that u do!!

Posted by Derivative on Dec-21-2004 23:44:

tbh im amazed you got all that for just 6 grand. in the uk all of that is at *least* 4 and 1/2 grand easily. which translates to about 8 or 9 thousand USD. not including records and definitely not including shipping on all of that (!!!). jesus, thats, what? over 50 kilos worth?

how much does it cost to get that stuff to your door?

all of those items are pretty much the most expensive in their class. good on ya if you can afford it but you've just gone and bought practically every DJ's dream list of equipment. some people here myself included will never be able to afford that rig in the forseeable future alls i can say is, damn you better be good or you better get good pretty fucking quick cuz you got no excuses now!

Not knocking it, if i could have bought that when i first started out I would have too.

It's going to be such a massive learning curve. It would be enough to learn just basic mixing on 2 decks with a 2 channel mixer. Now you've got a massive mixer with efx, a bloody dedicated efx unit, final scratch etc. You're gonna hit the wall hard. It takes skill to beatmatch, it takes skill to work the mixer, it takes even more skill to work the efx properly, then trow in final scratch... You've just bought the worlds most expensive trainwreck machine.

I spent $950 on my beginner setup (my current setup :/ ) and I think I spent too much, lol.

Oh well man that looks sick, I wish I had the money to drop on a setup like that :P Though I probably would of just stuck with what I have now and spent the rest of the money ($4000-$5000) on vinyl lol.

Hope you enjoy it.

Posted by beats and beeps on Dec-22-2004 06:27:

Yeah, if I had that kind of money to spend on equipment, I probably would have, although I think a smaller modest setup will be better for me if I live in a small apartment in the future or something.

Great choices though, with the exception of the headphones.

wow, i'll be lucky if i get paid enough this week from my job to buy the efx500. oh well, HAVE fun with ur stuff man u got grade a chit there.

Posted by idoru on Dec-22-2004 07:13:

Wow, that's a damned-fine setup right there.

lol... wow. u make djing sound so difficult.

pics or stfu

on a side note great set up, i think someone said it best in an earlier post, you just bought yourself "the worlds most expensive trainwrecking machine/setup" have fun with that. Hit that wall like a true peterson hitting the water (kerplunk).

Posted by DJ_Hailstone on Dec-22-2004 08:16:

OMG man this can be my setup of my dreams!

Are you robbed a bank or something?

Anyway, enjoy!

Posted by mikefasssy on Dec-22-2004 11:19:

waaaaaaaaaaaaay overkill, but fun if you have the cash.

even though I know you have a mad record collection i would have just go t decks + mixer and then started up a vinyl savings account.

heh. whatevs, peopel like you most def keep the dj companies in business, thats for sure.

Posted by T-Soma on Dec-22-2004 11:22:

im guessing you rob banks for a living?

Posted by amartinathome on Dec-22-2004 14:13:

Man, that's quite the setup for your first crack at DJing. I'm waiting to see what you're going to do for an upgrade.

Did you happen to buy any records?

Great records can sound good on crappy gear. Great gear without good records is meaningless.

I have to agree with you.
Nice though it must be to have a setup like that, I can't help but feel that it would have been sensible to build it piece by piece as you learn to handle each part.

I also feel that the effects unit wont reach it's full potential without a CDJ.

Just my two euros worth.

Cheers
