Bet Donald Rumsfelds fingerprints are all over this one as well..but will it be proven probably not..i remember it was about feburary this year when 5 uk prisioners were released from guantanamo after serious pressure from the uk government..and they alledged widespread abuse there and they went public about it..their allegations were dismissed as nonsense..we all know what happened next..but on a more serious note it makes a mockery of the geneva convention and any protests by the americans about its enforcement in times of war sound hollow indeed

They are just shoveling new shit on an old pile. The media must cling onto some other crisis in Iraq now.

Who's Tortured?
What prominent conservative commentators have said about prisoner abuse
by Matt Welch

| brief excerpt: But we now know that many of the shocking images from Abu Ghraib that we've been allowed to see the hoods, the dogs, the sexual humiliation, the photography, the beating have occurred elsewhere in Iraq, Guantanamo, and Afghanistan; and in many instances they reflect nothing more than official United States policy. How we respond, whether conservative, libertarian, liberal or other, will tell us a lot about what we've become. |
