Pink Floyd

Right... I don't care how much flaming I get for this (if any, hopefully none at all) but I believe that Pink Floyd are one of, if not THE best, non Trance outfits. In my productions, I have both been inspired by, and sampled the great band, and I find that they are a great inspiration in general and should have a worthy mention on these boards.

Thank you

Mef

has anyone tried the listening to pink floyd while watching the wizard of oz thing? it was so bunk... i was so disappointed...

Dark Side of the Moon/Wizard of Oz...You are supposed to cue the original Dark Side of the Moon CD at the third roar of the MGM lion. DSOTM has to be on repeat, it will go around 2 1/2 times or so...it didnt work for you? or it did but it was lame? Ive been wanting to try it out

Posted by DOOMBOT on Dec-22-2004 04:23:

You gotta do it while fucked up on something other then alcohol. A real trip if done right.

Posted by Danny Ocean on Dec-22-2004 04:27:

of course, LSD all the way

Posted by mef on Dec-22-2004 04:30:

Pretty sure it wont work (hope it doesnt to be honest! Hope it is just urban myth...)

Posted by memusa on Dec-22-2004 04:37:

It does work...oh God it work well!

Anyways, Pink Floyd will always be the most talented band ever IMO because their music has passed the test of time. I mean, put on the Drak Side of the Moon or The Wall and it still sounds like no other fucking thing you've heard anywhere else.

These guys are PURE talent in terms of songwriting, lyrics, and playing in a live setting. They have it all and no other band has come close to sounding as mature as them. Well, maybe Radiohead with OK Computer...but not even then do they come close to PF.

If someone in this board hasn't heard DSOTM or The Wall...you seriously need to consider yourself a music fan.

BTW, the movie The Wall is also a masterpiece. Beautiful.

oh it works.. pinkfloyd is the best band ever.

"Pink Floyd - Time" = The Story of My Life...LOL

My all time fav band.....

Don't forget about Wish You Were Here, Animals & Meddle. Even Atom Heart Mother & The Piper at the Gates of Dawn have their moments.

Immortals.

"Wish You Were Here" is one of my fave songs. Pink Floyd is a great band. Don't think their music will ever die.

for real. they are two totally different styles.

The wizard of oz thing works.

My friend is a classic rock addict, and he has a video that actually has the album dubbed to the wizard of oz already, I'm not sure if its legit or not seeing as it was on his computer, but it was pretty cool.

i did it... but i quit after dorothy landed in munchkin land... i dunno.. it seemed lame. the transitions weren't as cohesive and dramatic as i expected... i mean, the link between the music and pictures aren't as obvious as i thought... you really have to know what you're looking for.

i was completely sober.. maybe that's the problem.
