As stated before in a previous thread - do not buy a Behringer DJX 700.

Good luck on the search.

I've heard good things about Gemini PS626i. Price is around 120USD.

I hear the sound quality on nearly all gemini mixers is very shat

gemini ps626i is one of the best mixers in its PRICE CLASS!!! u shouldnt expect excellent sound quality from a 120 buck mixer

I'm not saying it's a top mixer, but I thing it's the best for the money.

300AU.. hmmm is that just over 300CAD? If so, look into getting the Numark DXM06. I picked it up at $320CAD. and it is a great mixer. 2 Channel (only part that bothers me), really decent EQ's, Sound quality is pretty good, effects are excellent for a mixer in that price range. Quite impressed with them.

It would be my choice if you have a chance to either find it cheap, or save a few more bucks.

+1

well i was looking @ the dxm mixers and in aus the are all around 500 or more but buying in america would only cost about 300 but then plus gettin it shipped and power converters probly defetes the purpose. Excuse the grammer, its late n im tired...

Posted by T-Soma on Dec-23-2004 01:45:

I just thaught about asking this now... iv been practicing beatmatching just using a program like dssdj and going down to a local studio on techs and a pcv275 for about a year now and do you think it is worth buying a cheap mixer to use with 1 computer, 1 cd player and an old direct drive TT with knob pitch faders. The thing is that i have enough money to go buy something good like maybe two good cd players and a nice djm mixer but being only fourteen my parents dont want me spending the money on it The pcv 275 down at the local radio station studio is dieing in all ways and they have no money to fix it...

I'm sick and tired of people saying this...

Yes, its not the best mixer out there. No, it's sound quality is not great, but for people with a budget this is an amazing mixer. Trust me, I've used this for a while.

If you have a good job, by all means, save up your money and don't buy this, but if you work at a crappy place or don't even have a job this is where you go!!! Behringer kicks ass for us low budget people by far.

Wait, and save up for the DMX06. You can get them for like $500 in Aus, and the extra $200 or whatever spent on this is worth it seeing as you won't have to upgrade ur mixer for ages. I'm sure you can convince ur parents an extra $200 or so ain't too much

dxm03, i got that and its great and its so cheap couse its discontinued and its selling fast.

Posted by TranceSpeeder on Dec-23-2004 06:13:

the thing missing from that compared to the dxm06 is the effects. but its so cheap. but then again, i never went for the dxm06 is couse i use virtualdj which has effects.

Sweet, I just bought that mixer as well. Veeery nice. The knobs and faders are soo nice and smooth. And of course the music quality is amazing. For the price, it's definately the best.

Screw Behringer and Gemini. Numark is the way to go

Posted by Trance Nutter on Dec-27-2004 02:23:

I don't know about sound quality etc, but Numark also have a three channel mixer for less than 300 Aus, the 3050.

NUMARK 3050
_ Inputs for 2-5 line switchable, 3 phono, 1 mic
_ Steep 3-band EQ with Frequency Kill
_ Tone EQ control on microphone input
_ Replaceable crossfader with reverse and slope control
_ Split or blend cueing, PFL gain adjust with meter
_ Master, record, and zone outputs

Enquire about free shipping

AU$260

Thats from Derringers here in Adelaide and they are pretty cheap, but I'd say that most stores that have them would have a similar price. Or you can ship it from Adelaide

Otherwise if you can find those Gemini's, they seem pretty good.

I just found out my cusion has some connections and he got his dxm06 for about $250AU!! =D so if im lucky i might be able to get one for around that price

Posted by TranceSpeeder on Dec-27-2004 18:42:

i really think thats the best mixer you can get for that price imo, the effects are worth it.

Posted by TheDarkOne on Dec-27-2004 22:49:

nice, I wish I had contacts like that too. Definately go for it.

djx is a quality mixer for it's price...you douchebags just want the efx to be as perfect as a efx500 but unfortunately it's not.

The rest of the djx 700 is solid built and good.

Poor build quality, shaky sound at times and zero dependability. sound quality is poor. Master channel is very noisy. Save your money for the real thing or just buy a basic mixer with less features but quality parts.

Posted by Ken_Allen on Dec-28-2004 05:28:

Maybe you should learn how to use a mixer correctly? If it's too noisey you look at those things called UV or db meters and look at those littler numbers besides them and make sure it doesn't go above 0db
using the trim also helps on seprate channels.

The sound problem...You people don't think that little knob for surround sound does anything. Thats where the quality sound comes out! Put it about 3/4 of the way up and you have yourself some normal everyday quality sound!
