Boy George, are u kidding me?

Posted by miss mouser on Dec-27-2004 05:24:

No, I'm not kidding you mdamon7278. Did you not know that he was a DJ? He has worked very hard to get the wonderful reputation that he has now for DJing and producing and to get rid of the whole Culture Club stigma, if you will, that has followed him on his journey to get to the respect that he now has in this industry. He is also, ofcourse a wonderful showman. He has gotten fabulous reviews over the last couple of years for the select events that he chooses to perform at. I feel very honored that he decided to perform in Charlotte and that I am the producer and promoter that was chosen to bring him.

sorry i know this isn't my region... anymore. I moved out of NC a few years ago, (thank god ) But to respond, This is TRANCEADDICT. I'm pretty sure almost everybody here knew he turned into a DJ. As a promoter you should learn that spamming a board just pisses people off. Me and others have been turned off by spamming of an event.

People on TA sure the fuck are pretentious, get the fuck over yourselves. BTW Boy George was one of the highlights at last years Ultra, nice job on getting him.

I would love to see Boy George. I heard he is really good. Anyone able to make it shouldn't miss it!

Posted by trancebrat on Dec-29-2004 06:25:

Boy George has been spinning for years. I have a set of his somewhere. I doubt that I would go out of my way to go see him, but I wouldn't rule out listening to him if the opportunity presented itself.

Boy George is very respected overseas.. perhaps among the Top Dj's. There are various CD's mixed under he's name ( you could find Ministry of Sound ).. or the Essential Mixes, where Oakenfold, and Fatboy Slim have been part of. I know TA's here like other DJ's besides the trance.. and i dont doubt Boy Goerge is prob. on someones bag of DJ's to see.. he was one of the highlights of last years Ultra, and has been one of the highlights and among the TOP nights on past WMC parties. Surprising huh?

i am ready for this event to see what the fuss is about. Miss mouser has allways thrown event for fun rather than proffit and i give her props for taking the initial risk of this event. Its going to go well as ticket sales have gone well. Hope some of you can make it out.

For anyone planning on coming and needing a hotel, the Holiday Inn Center City in the heart of downtown Charlotte, has a block of rooms reserved for that weekend. $69 up to a four person occupancy! Here's the link for reservations. The code is 'BOY'. Cheers!
