Which phones offer the best isolation?

Yes I know theres a headphone thread, and a search button, and I did use them.

Using them, I found lots of positive words about the isolation on the sen hd280's, and I was about to get a pair, but then I stumbled on this.

This person says they dont block out nearly as much sound as is advertised.

So which headphones offer the best isolation, while still being suitable for djing?

you allready know the answer, the sennheiser hd280. Another thing, the level of noise attenuation will vary depending on head/ear shapes. So don't listen to that guy. He sounds more like a idiot trying to be smart, hell, i've yet found a pair of headphones that works as well for the money, just like all revealing monitors, you need a good source for the best sound.

yeah that guy has some kind of retardation, the sound isolation is amazing, to the point where if i am wearing them, i cannot hear someone talking right next to me.

Alright, well I guess I'll get them, and hope for the best. They are $148 here in canada...

I hear about the headband cracking, has anybody had this covered under the 2 year warratee, or do they blame it on abuse?

For me Hd-280's offered the best isolation, but I changed to another pair of phones because I had 5 hd-280's and in all of them the headband broke in my use

Damn it, I'm really thinking of going for the stanton dj pro 2000's because they are so much cheaper $85 CAD while the hd280s are $148 CAD...Also I dont think they break as much.

I do realise the sound quality on them will be crap, but I just hope they have fair enough isolation.

If you are looking for good phones then get the HD25 straight away. Their isolation is very good and the sound is nice and clear too. I have been using the same pair for over a year now (on a proffesional basis) and still have no issues with them.

Cheers

I couldn't agree more.

I've been using the sennheiser hd280 silvers for about 6 months. They have great isolation. That's the direction I would point you in.
