the man is more of a dj then you'll ever be...he can use whatever he wants...

Posted by TweeK on Dec-24-2004 23:10:

It dont matter to me

Posted by Vero on Dec-24-2004 23:11:

And Paul van Dyk.

Whatever, his sets are still pretty mean....with the occasional "Off nights," of course.

Posted by jdat on Dec-24-2004 23:16:

as far as I'm concerned what he's doing right there is a step UP and not a step down as you appear to be suggesting.

Regardless, old news.

obviously you didn't get my point. I love sasha and he's great using ableton, and have nothing against it. I also know its old news, the point is the definition me and infinity_high came up with.

it's new technology isn't it.

like any new technology, some people will be early adopters. people might flood to it, then everyone will settle down and realise you can do stuff with vinyl you can't do with computers and vice versa, and both might get equal respect.

i forecast vinyl will be dead by June 2005, but will come back to life 4 months later. Creative labs releases the first vinyl record deck which fits into a 5.25" drive bay in october and everyone's happy.

Posted by D-res on Dec-24-2004 23:45:

i have lost all respect for anyone who uses a piece of fucking software to mix music... wow.... such talent

Posted by Phil r on Dec-24-2004 23:46:

isn't the idea about what comes out of the speakers tho, not how it gets there?

*shrugs*

But then the "DJ" could just put on a mix CD and take off... People like seeing a bit of effort put into it.

exactly

i dont want to go to a venue and see the DJ putting less effort into his sets than i do in my room

soon we`re going to dance in front of a guy with a computer...

Actually seeing as BT and him are good friends he might have gotten the idea from Brian. Although Brian's laptop symphony's are a bit more complex and take more effort than just mixing tracks.

I'd love to see BT. I wonder how he'd play Force of Gravity live...

most people into their tunes and clubbing would tell the difference between a pre-done mix, and a live set

That'd be hella cool. He comes to FL every now and again but not often enough.

Not to mention, the times he did stop by here, I was unemployed.

Posted by Pett on Dec-25-2004 00:38:

he knocked some bitch with his vinyl, but he was still using cd's
i guess he saw the light with technology advancements.
