"Hot Spots" in Flash Pro 2004???

Hi, Im currently trying to make an interactive Flash document, but am running into a bit of trouble.

I have a main image, which is serving as my background. I want this image to function similar to an image map; that is, when you click on certain defined areas of the image, certain events occur.

For example, let's use a bedroom. I want to click on the bed in the image and have some text appear. Does anyone know how I can create these "hot spots" in Flash?

Additional properties include "spots" that are not round or polygonal.

When you create a button you dont actually need to have any image in the down,over and up state. As long as you have some sort of image in the hit state it was appear on stage as an opaque object. Then you simply place the buttons over the various spaces of the bedroom and script them to give them what ever function you want.
