http://www.discogs.com/artist/Oliver+Lieb Lieb has soo many styles and tracks, you could probably argue every artist has a track that sounds like his work

Posted by Light The Fuse on Dec-26-2004 00:05:

yeah and.......?

Posted by Ory on Dec-26-2004 00:05:

He's some new producer who's only produced a couple of tracks, and you're already comparing him to Oliver Lieb?

Posted by torontotrance on Dec-26-2004 00:08:

He can't be, he does not have the big ego and the chip on his shoulder or the talent

Posted by Light The Fuse on Dec-26-2004 00:09:

Im just saying he has a similar feel for mood, sound and melody.
Hes got his first LP out (I think its his first anyway)...but yeah I reckon hes pretty good.
Look at everyones top 20's in he top 20 for 04 thread - most people with any semblence of taste have put at least one of his tracks in there.

he could be something special, in fact i reckon he already is.

kosmas' needs to adopt about 10 new styles then maby you can ask this question

and second you take every ones top 20 on here for granted?

you know as the rush comes was ta track of the year, and the world doesnt know is probably going to be top 5 this year?

You no longer have any credibility. Go away.

Posted by Light The Fuse on Dec-26-2004 00:20:

sorry, i forgot no one on ta has any idea, sorry
Ive been watching the forum and have a general idea of who likes good and who likes crap.

Yeah, I know itd be kewl if he branched out, and I am sure he is more than just a one trick pony, Playground for a start.

Posted by Radagast on Dec-26-2004 00:23:

We have no idea? Oliver Lieb >>>>> Kosmas Epsilon, now and forever.

Have you even heard any of his aliases? Spicelab? S.O.L.? L.S.G.? Paragliders? Ivan? The Ambush? Snakemen? Smoked? Mindspace? Force Legato?

No, if Kosmas Epsilon worked on music for the rest of his life he wouldn't be on par with Lieb.

look man, i dont see anything wrong with those 2 tracks before they got overplayed...and for a track to get overplayed it only means that they were really good...people dont love them for nothing!
after all, if you're saying that the top 20 from users in TA doesnt count, whose top 20 should we look at?
this is a board with trance fans, if you or me dont like this tracks doesnt matter...they're still top for many other people and that's what counts!
your decision or taste is no better than any one elses, its just different!

what does this thread have to do with likeing stuff?

Look all Im saying is if he keeps up the good werk for another 10-15 years then he'll be on a par with lieb. If he doesnt, well then, at least he gave us a glimpse into what I call prog trance in 2004.

AH the ultimate elitest with the nic 'Sandstorm'

actually ive only heard the world doesnt know about 5-10 times, so i dont think its over played, i just dont think its good. twelve is a much better production.

did i say the top 20 doesnt count? The problem with people is that imo(i wish there were numbers to this) more people listen to music at home, and not in clubs. Because its to expensive, to loud, to many snotty people, lazyness, underage(wich is probably a good majority). Musical taste is obviousely going to differ. If you want to take it a step further people that don't purchase tracks shouldn't even be allowed to post on ta. That would solve a lot of problems.

The only top 20's i will really agknowledge are the people that i know spin vinyl, or have been listning to edm music for an extended period of time. Music is different when you actually have to listen and pay attention to every beat and note in a track. When you are spinning sometimes it can take 5 seconds to know a track is produced like crap.

do you spin?

Yes I have supported Nick Warren, Pete Tong, Ferry Corsten, Tiesto, Evil 9 as well as playing at Australias Godksitchen and Slinky.
And Im playing and oldskool (93-95) prog/trance set at Melbournes best club NYE, and supporting Christopher Lawrence on the 14th in Melbourne.
