Best goalkeeper in the english football league?

I'd say ..................Gabor Kiraly from Christal Palace

Posted by Hanki on Dec-26-2004 21:07:

Jerzy Dudek!!! Hehe but seriously maybe Petr Cech...

Posted by Dj Smitty20 on Dec-26-2004 21:51:

Nigel Martyn....sole reason Everton didn't go down last year.

Posted by Chang monkey on Dec-27-2004 01:24:

Carlo Cudicini followed by Petr Cech

The Norwich & borough keepers are good. Although the two Chelsea keepers are class. Especially Cudicini

Posted by Ian on Dec-27-2004 08:55:

Best

Cech
Cudicini
Jaaskelainen
Niemi
Robinson
Kirkland
Green
Wright
Martyn

Worst

Lehmann
Howard
Carroll
Speroni

Second that. He is class. Cant belive I forgot about him

Ian^ what's Kirkland doing over there??? He's one of the wrorst goalies in teh Premiership IMO... But I know, that he's young and have time to become the best, but nowdays he's not on the top form...

Posted by evil_bastard on Dec-28-2004 16:53:

Given has not been on his best form at the moment, he's made a few uncharacteristic mistakes, but I couldn't name a better, more consistent keeper in the Premiership over the last few years. You put any keeper behind the Newcastle defence and watch how many he concedes. It's amazing to think Given had the most clean sheets of any goalkeeper two seasons ago!

This season I'd say Cech has been the best even if he does have the best defence in front of him.

Niemi, hes a quality goalkeeper

Posted by razmataz on Dec-31-2004 17:18:

Jussi Jaaskelainen of Bolton.

He's going to make the big time at a larger club soon. I can see Manchester United swooping for him with their mini goalkeeper crisis. Or Arsenal for that matter.

Kirkland??? He isn't a good goalkeeper.

Dudek is much better!

Almunia and Lehmann are doing a fine job , i don't see why Arsenal should get Jaaskelainen

Well, I read on soccernet that few Bundesliga clubs might make a move for Lehmann because he has fallen out of favour at Arsenal (he has been quite average at Arsenal this year). And Wenger doesn't seem to be to opposed to the idea of selling him either.

Arsenal will have a new keeper starting next season. Almunia and Lehmann wont cut it.

Wenger will go for someone non-english so expect a Frenchie to come in.

as a bolton fan, he's shit compared to some. Why ? While he makes 1 or 2 stunning saves, he's let in many sloppy shots or palmed them out to ppl who put the ball in. His aerial ability isn't amazing either, and his kicking is bad, but he's all we have

Doesn't he play for some Serie A team still? Parma?

Yeah he was quoted as saying he would like to return to Inter and that is the most likely destination for him in the summer. Arsenal and Man U want him too. Definitly leaving Parma at the end of season though.
