hardware question
I was just wondering what kind of hardware you folks use in your set-ups. I've been using Reason for about 8 months now but find I just can't quite get that trance sound out of it completely. So I'm looking for a synth that's not crazy expensive but has a wide range of "trancey" sounds. Also I have Reaktor but don't know how to use it at all. Does anyone know of a link to the basics of that program? That's it I guess. Thanks!
is it hte actuall trance synths that are hard to get? Good hardware to look at are:
novation - nova's
waldorf - micro Q
clavia - nordlead
roland - jp8080
korg - ms2000r
these usually have more than 1 sound that can be used at the same time. There are others you can get. Older analog synths like juno 106, pro 1, tb303, moogs. But for the most part they can only use one noise at a time. Hope that helps
Hehe!
well what can i say! i maike trance and i have a virus B + a Roland MC-505 and a Roland XP90 Workstation... and i can make som serius traxx
thanks to both of you! I've actually heard the virus (A and B I think) mentioned quite a bit. Anyone know what company produces that? I want to check it out? Thanks.
You can't get a good trance sound from Reason...? I use Reason all the time for my music, I'll admit I did have problems getting the sound I wanted from it, but with the combination of EQ and COMP and playing around with the synth, I finally managed to get the sound I wanted. Drop me a message and I'll talk to you more about it...or even send you some subtractor synth patches.
About Reaktor, that program is AMAZING...It sounds so analogue it could almost be the real thing...Anyway, here is a tutorial to the basics of Reaktor:
