Question about Routers....

Ok heres the thing.....I'm looking to basically get a router to connect my PC w/ both my Xbox & PS2 to play online with.

I currently have a cable modem. But I am looking to get a wireless router to connect everything.........
Is this possible to do ?? Considering all I want to hook up is my Xbox & PS2 (no other cpus).

or maybe you can using a MAC filter in the modem might work too You are going to need wireless adapter for the Xbox, i belive that they allow for encryption as well. You don't need hardwire to be secure. just some commone sense. Will it be slower. yes. will you notice? NO. unless you plan to transfer over 2MB per second over the air...witch i REALLY doubt you ever will, you won't notice.

Just becasue you have wireless, dosn't mean its hackable.

WEP Key. + Mac filtering = gg.

WEP Key alone will do fine.

I have 2 linksys wireless access points, which only talk to each other..... set up mac addresses in options.... is that secure?

Network devices transmit their MAC address and these can easily be sniffed by someone trying to hack your gibson. It's best to use WPA-PSK as its more secure then WEP plus MAC filtering.

To the OP. You will need a Wireless Router connected to your modem, and for your xbox and ps2 you will need a bridge or an AP connected to them which will then hookup to the router.
