Tiesto vs. Junkie XL - "Obsession"

Just re-listened to this track and forgot how good it was. It was def. overplayed when it came out, but it's got a great hook. My favorite part is at about the 4 min mark when a totally new synth comes in. Always puts me in a "trance" for sure.

I like it a lot more now, then I used to, when I was into the cheesier side of things...

Still awesome. Too bad Tisto decided to overplay the Frank Biazzi remix which sounds nothing like the original whatsoever.

the bassline when everything kicks back in..omg!! really awesome.

TO bad the main part is only 16 bars, which is really short.

My favorite part is the break also.

probably my favorite track of the in my memory album.... great track!!!!

People who have no idea how much work certain producers did on tracks or albums should keep their comments to themselves...

And it's a good track. Frank Biazzi remix isn't bad, but I'd rather just listen to Turbulence. Although First Contact was better than Turbulence. But I digress.

hehe touch, when sasha becomes too popular in 2 years or something everyone will be bitching about how much help he got from Junkie XL when making airdrawndagger. But till then lets focus on tiesto

Yeah every track he produces people say the engineer did it all or geert did it all. I also read a comment from someone who believes Ferry did all the Gouryella tracks.

Infact it is impossible to know who did how much because we are not there during that creativeprocess.

couldnt have put it better....when i first heard it i thought it was so boring and thought it was just a repedative beat, but now its so great

dj tiesto and junkie xl....both great producers

I think what you people need to realize that all successful producers have production teams. The DJ (or the main producer) is the core of the creative process because its his ideas that make it on the product that they wish to sell. Tiesto did feed off of Junkie on "IMM" and Sasha fed off of others on "Airdrawndagger." However, the main ideas, as well as most of the creative work, is done my the producer whose name the track carries. For example Sasha worked with Simon Wright, Barry Jamieson, Crharlie May and etc. on "Invovler" but it was Sasha who pretty much created and made important decisions on the tracks. As you get bigger you have the abiltiy to have production teams and sound engineers, and this serves to your advantage. However, it does not take away from your credibility if you are trying to acquire outside influence and create better tracks. Rap artists and rock artists do this all the time by jaming or playing together in the studio.

Obession still does it for me. Without a doubt. Beautiful both in a full-scale superclub or the comfort of home stereo.
