what is the difference between

uplifting, euphoric and epic?

?

Posted by starglider on Dec-29-2004 18:09:

From dictionary.com:

uplifting: music that uplifts the spirit
euphoric: causing "a feeling of great happiness or well-being"

Like any adjectives, they can be used to describe music, or anything else really. They are essentially interchangeable where music is concerned, it would seem.

i had an hour long chat with a mates dad about this yesterday.

he's a maths teacher and he wants a formula for it :\

I think its safe to say that uplifting, euphoric, and epic are very similar if not the same style. So tell your math teacher that different people call the same thing by different names.

Its like fag vs cigarette. Same thing different name.

cool. i think what I'm going to do is give him some shrooms, then play him either some psy, or goa trance (not sure which).

then i think he can derive his own equations from it.

epic to me is stufflike derek howell, long breakdown, make you think music.

euphoric doesnt need to be epic, just really uplifting

and uplifting could be either, but really anything that makes you smile.

Euphoric is just a buzzword, really. Epic is a genre, and uplifting is an adjective. For instance, you could have Euphoric, uplifting epic trance is you want.

whats a question with not answer called?

Posted by Radagast on Dec-30-2004 03:31:

Just because you can't answer a question doesn't mean it's unanswerable.

Uplifting and euphoric describe state of emotion, epic describes the properties of a trance genre.
