hey guys,

i think the melody has a lot of potential, but still needs some work to tweak it right, i would also change the notes a bit, but all in all really good melody. I think it needs lot more effects in the breakdown, to make some more impressive atmoshpere or something, and needs a bit more effects at the ends too. I would use a submelody too buildung up to the main melody or something. The percs are great, the clap needs definitely more reverb and some delay i think. Add some more drive to the bassline, like above & beyond do, try making some driving sub-bass or something, the pads are great

overally it needs some more work on it, some more tweaking, mastering right, and you guys will have a quality track

btw, what software do you use for producing music?

cheers,

Peter

Hosting is down Perry - should be up soon.

Thanks for the comments ilovetrance

We know we've got some stuff to do to make it amazing, but its our real first collab and only my second track in six months of production

We're using Logic 5.5 on PC with VST's like Vanguard, Pro53 and the in-built logic ones

I like the idea behind this...potential here? I THINK SO!

Interesting melody! I like it...but its not too syrupy..you know...its got hooks, but not sickly sweet and annoying like some hooks.

Love the instruments too...i agree that some counter-melody needs to be intertwined into its development!

And needs a good mixdown fo sho!

Other than that... WAY TO GO GUYS!

Thanks for the kind words Digital Aura

Seems like we're gonna go over this one again and pick up what people have said and make some alterations

great sounds here

the tune is nothing special for me and the main synth could use some more strengh.

good percussions and bass and counter synths and ambiances

keepytup

firstly, the sound quality is great! top production skillz here.
the compression on the mix out seems to alternate everytime there is a large kick or climax? might want to sort that. melody is nice and whiteroomish, good pads too.

after the break the tune kinda wanders and loses interest
try get some more elements in there to maintain interest

massive potential here

Cheers for the kind words John, encouraging to hear about the potential as we were just happy getting some music down and out there.

I'm looking forward to getting back to going over and alter some parts so we can start to push it more

hey wow I really like this... the production isn't spot on IMO... I think some sounds can be strengthened and/or replaced with some less cheesey ones, but who cares really... just get an engineer to mix this down and send it off to the labels... like everyone else said... lots of potential here.

I agree with John... after the break try putting some elements that will add novelty to the track... maybe an unexpected chord change... or a key change.. with a sweet piano riff. for ideas sake

nice fx going on in the track...
melody sounds cool...
that roll at the end of the break is very powerful..i like that...
dont have much to say to it anymore...good work, dude!

Posted by gerrycueto on Jan-03-2005 23:25:

hey it's good now... very dreamy... might have a little too much lowmids here in these speakers... but I haven't checked it on others to tell... but sounds much better! It has that Vadim Zhukov feel to it

Posted by Frase on Jan-03-2005 23:32:

Wow guys, thanks for the feedback! An honour to be said that it compares to a signed artist!!

Posted by davidemonin on Jan-21-2005 11:39:

Wow this tune is really sweeeet!! love it. Can't believe i missed this. Sending you a pm.

Posted by Stino on Jan-21-2005 11:53:

Track sounds like its recorded in a hollow tube o something...to be honest. I like some of the synths and melodie. It does have some potential but especially the structure of the track and the sound quality is not very good. Track lacks bass and as i said...way to much reverb i think.

Posted by dbl on Jan-21-2005 13:07:

sounds nice.. could really need a submelodie thou caus now it sounds really thinn

Posted by Jay M on Jan-21-2005 13:16:

Nice melody, nice bass (but add some low), nice fx, a lot of nice things here.
Percs are a bit sharp i guess.. And maybe the kick can use some more punch. Is there a lot of reverb on the pads?

An extra guitar (or so) as lead will hold my attention after the break, give it a try!

Good work.
-Jay

Hey guys, didnt see this topic brought up again, but what you're hearing is not the final version

We finished the final version bout 2-3 weeks ago now and we're loving the standard, much crisper sound we've got than previous efforts! Got playlisted by a couple of DJ's so we're happy

Heres a sample of it

Nice atmosphere, but the lead synth is too "basic", too loud and too repetative.. Sounds like a good production, but id like to hear this with another lead sound.. try layering a few sounds with different synthesis and effects.. then try to morph them with eq / volume automation.. then the lead would keep interest even though it is melodically very repetative..

- J.

I personally think the lead is fine, though some sort of modulation like Synaesthesia might help keep interest more. I dunno, to me this sounds like it's ready to go out on cdr's. Amazing work guys.
