I lived in London before...there are good DJs but the clubs have crap sound systems so I disagree.
Ive also lived in the US which has good clubs but crap DJs. Now im in Tokyo which for me is the best of both with the best clubs ad every week a good selection of top draw DJs. trance is not big here tho so it depends what your into. I would say for

House: London, Ibiza
Trance: Holland, USA
techno: Germany, Japan

I live in canada, and here we have the same sound as the USA. Trance is really not a big market here in america. I play trance, and the most of the demand come for house music...

U.S. as a good place for EDM influence? Yeah right :P

I never said EDM influence. what i mean is that the US has alot of trance events
(Apart from New York/chicago is more house influence.)
Since EDM isnt very big in the US, it is normal that the most accessible form of EDM, ie trance, has many events so people can still go to suck tiesto, pvd, avb's balls while they DJ without knowing any better.

In america, people will go see the most populars Dj's, just bec ause he's popular. They really don't care of the kind of music they play. In a lot of place like New York, Chicago or Detroit, they have their own local music scene. Club's are full, and people like to dance on house music or Techno music. They have an infuance cause they have the Miami music conference, and it's the most popular conference over the world in EDM.

London and NYC are a shell of what they used to be. I think they will come back up again, but in 2004, I think the best place to be is in Holland.

Posted by Zild on Dec-30-2004 20:15:

Germany, but thats because I like techno alot more than I like trance.

Posted by Petrogad on Dec-30-2004 20:20:

easily ibiza

Posted by chesco on Dec-30-2004 20:21:

Ibiza is only really a summer thing.

i'd say germany, the people there seem to know there music.

Posted by swisstoni_uk on Dec-30-2004 20:40:

Trance wise, you cant really disagree with Holland/UK. The two biggest countries in the world for Trance, the most prolific/successful for Producers/DJs/Clubs/Events

Meh, i'm really finding the netherlands to my liking so far

Posted by memusa on Dec-30-2004 21:22:

Anywhere in the "G4":

New York
London
Amsterdam
Ibiza

what's this got to do with music discussion?

(if you're asking what are the biggest trance nations then that's a different question altogether)

best place to be born would be in a prodution studio of course.

I think people have to take all the culture around a place not just the EDM scene...that was the way of my question. I agree that London, Amsterdam, New york etc.. are good place to born for EDM. But i want people give me Unknown Place in the world where an artist will find a party place. Ex: I'm from Montreal, and i can tell you that all artist, i mean not only in EDM, really like Montreal cause it's a place where people are really open mind. There's a lot of culturals events here. That's the way of my question...
