Global Underground

Call me blind, but I just now downloaded a Global Underground CD to hear what they're all about. Got Digger's in Los Angeles and I totally dig it! I got a few others, Howells, Sasha but didn't like them as much as Diggers. Can anyone recommend any others like Diggers in Los Angeles? I'm gonna go buy Diggers in LA but won't be getting any others until I hear'em.

Dude, GU is awesome...I have 6 or 7 of them and love them all. Only prob w/ them is that they're mixed on a computer so they don't have that real "live" feeling but are still awesome.

If you want the GA set just email me. I can setup my linux box as a server. With ADSL I have a max upload of 16k/s.

Any like GU: LA? Not really...you might want to try NuBreed 5, which is by Lee Burridge.

The Deep Dish GU which is coming out soon is dark and deep, but not Digger's style.

All right, progress to the next question, what else is out there, not just global underground that's like GU:LA, dark, deep and chillin?

All GU's are studio compilations, none of them are live. If you like Diggers GU-19 then u will love this older GU's which are frankly better then his current effort. Get GU-Hong Kong (also mixed by Digweed), that's a masterpiece in sound !!! U might also like Sasha - GU 13-Ibiza and GU-San Fransisco.

GU and Nu-Breed are the bench mark in progressive sounds, don't get them if u like the epic uplifting stuff cause that's not the kinda sounds that they are aiming for.

NU-Breed Era by Red Jerry is also a quality double CD which has everything from progressive house tracks to tribal and trance beats. I have a copy of the CD which i've ripped if anyone wants it.

What do u mean by studio?
All are done in studios, most on computers, a small number of them mixed live on turntables, then mastered and edited on computers.

Funny, I had a debat with other members of the GU board about that...
Nick Warren and Oakey are the only GU dj's to do theire GU album live or on turn tables....the rest are done with protool...
Don't get me wrong, most of them are originaly done on tables but are edited and edited and edited by theire engineer. Some are made with Protool from the begining.

Hello!

yeah try to stay away from John Digweed - Los Angeles #19 I totally dig JD but I didn't think that this one was really good....kinda soft/slow not to many buildups but give it a listen if you can maybe you have a different taste than I do
