STOP DISing TIESTO...HAD TO POST HERE ALSO
I saw Tiesto at World and I loved it. I have seen Tiesto a lot of times (LimeLight, France, London, Texas, and Germany) I every Tiesto CD ever made and over 60 live sets on CD. Anyway I keep hearing people dis on Tiesto for his performance at World and I don�t know why. Ok everyone keeps talking about he messed up on Silence and that he keeps playing it in every set, wel from what I remember when he stopped the music during Silence so everyone can sing along with him and Sarah McLachlin there where very few who even sang along and the majority of the ones who did barely even knew the words to Silnce (its RAGE not RAIN u morons) so obviously some people havent heard Silence enough or ever at all and maybe that�s why he played it. That track is like a trademark of his, its like when or if u go to a Guns N Roses concert u know and expect them to play Welcome to the Jungle, even though it is played out and we all know it they play it cus it is a track that is almost a foundation of what they have become. If you people hate Tiestos tracklists all the time well maybe u should buy him out for a party give him your tracklists and have him spin what u want, this way u will be happy. If u ask me I don�t think Tiestos track decisions where all that bad at all I just think the crowd suked, I mean come on a couple of people didn�t even know that the last track he played before Urban Train was Cloudwalking. And if u are tired of hearing all the same tracks then just don�t go see Tiesto anymore , let the real fans that enjoy all his tracks go see him, I wouldn�t care if he played the same tracklist as Live at Dance Terminal..and that�s old, but what do I know ?�maybe I am jus a REAL fan of his and not someone who compllains about it all the time. Also I heard someone say that maybe Tiesto should worry more about his tracks then dancing on stage�well from all the times I have seen Tiesto I always loved the parts where he would come from behind the booth and get into it with the crowd�it shows that he is feeling the music as much as we are and not jus playing tracks to make people happy , which is what a lot of u people seem to want. Tiesto plays what makes the crowd feel alive and what makes him feel alive. Look at when he played The Prophet he walked out from behind the booth all calm and raised his arms from his sides up until the beat topped and then he closed his eyes and bit his lip then right with the song and other Tiesto heads he said "COME WITH ME"�don�t u understand that he is so alive when this happens and he wants u all to know it�I mean when he did that I felt all his energy come out and it made the night all that better�I would much rather have Tiesto come close to the crowd and shed his vibe then have him sit alone in a booth and not make any contact�that�s one of the reasons I love Tiesto�.Also I have heard people say that Tiesto has become "big-headed" or that he thinks he is the "man" �ARE U ALL NUTS�..Tiesto is the one Dj that will always make time for his fans always�he will take pictures and sign all night long�.he did am interview once where someone asked ghim what he thinks about people getting his music from sites like Napster for free and he said that it did not bother him because he knows its hard to get his stuff in stores in the US and that the money is not important to him just aslong as he can reach people with his music�..now go ask Oakie or PVD that question and I bet they will say they want tehre money�especially Oakie�..also at World that night a friend of mine who went to see Tiesto in Montreal recently tried to get an autographed record from Tiesto but wasn�t able to�.so at World I saw Tiesto point to my friend and then my friend pointed back to him�.then all of a sudden Tiesto walks out from the booth with a signed record and kneels down and personally hands my friend the autographed record and shakes his hand�.no if u ask me that makes Tiesto a CLASS ACT�.this DJ who travels all over the world non stop playting crowds of thousands actually remembered one fan from Montreal who wanted a signed record and gave that fan what he wanted�.that jus shows how in touch Tiesto is with his fans�..look Tiesto can only play so many tracks in his time allowed he tries to pick what he feels will energize the crowd..he puts in old tracks for the fans who remember Magik 1 , he puts in the famous tracks like Silence for the ones who don�t know him well but have heard him before and want to hear more, and he puts new tracks in for the people who need more and more, he can only make so many people happy and I think he does a great job at it�.i mean personally my favorite live set he ever did was Live at Energy 12.31.99 but I cant expect him to play it for me everytime I go see him�I wish I could but I cant�.i would also like for once to hear him play Allure - No More Tears live for me but he hasn�t�.but to be honest it really makes no difference cus every set he does I am pleased with because I am a REAL Tiesto fan and not someone who jumped on the Tiesto band wagon when he came out with SummerBreeze�.enjoy him ot don�t�u all have your opinions but just don�t sit there and say Tiesto is not all that good or that Tiesto is falling off�..he does his best to please as many as he can and I am never let down�.MAGIK RULES !!
ALSO...as far as Tiesto always playing the same tracks over and over...if u really KNOW and LOVE Tiesto and have been listening to him for aslong as a REAL Tiesto fan then how come u only complain about him palting tracks like Silence and Urban Train over and over?????...SHIT...i remember when every set Tiesto did had the same tracks over and over like

he used to play those tracks every time he spun...those are great tracks that he played over and over at every club and party but noone says shit about those....i think the peole who are complaing are the ones who started liking Tiesto after Silence came out ....and are jus bored of hearing it....well back in the day people where bored about Serendipity..but u know what they never complained because whatever Tiesto choses to play is always great......MAGIK RULES AGAIN

its true my friend saw him in Montreal and could not get a signed record from Tiesto there...but when he came to NYC to see Tiesto at The World on October 20th, Tiesto gave him a signed record cus he remembered him from Montreal...cool shit

i agree with the title to this thread, will you all stop mocking dj's that are decent, but play/do sumthing different to what you like. mock crappy people, because if we all went around mocking tiesto jsut because we dont like the was his does his thing, i would go around leaving abusive messages about sasha, digweed, PvD, Timo maas, oakenfld and all the rest that i cant think of at the moment. so jsut leave it, and peace

i have been listening to Tijs since 1999 and it's NOT the same. in 1999 and last year, he was a great idol for me, as Paul is. but after April 2001 something happened... he has been playing the same track since that month. That's why i was dissapointed. If you make a comparison betweeen his set of April to October, you see that 80% of the tracks have been played all the time.

I can't believe so many peeps dislike Ti�sto saying that he has played out silence and all that other crap....I saw Ti�sto @ Nocturnal Wonderland 2001 in Southern Cali and I waited till 5:15 in the moring to see him spin. let me tell you that set was freekin awesome. He didn't play silence at all but some of the track he did spin that I tought was great was Flight 643, Souvenir de chine, and he closed with urban train. I know that not a lot of songs to remember but I was also awake for the past 31 hours with no sleep so i was kinda just zoned out for a bit....but I say dont put Ti�sto down. Its his time right now, the reason I think he plays mostly the same sets is so everywhere he goes they git a feel for a great set that he has put on before
I like Ti�sto very much, but i liked his old style much better then the style his playing now. Before (98,99 and 2000) he played all this great uplifting tunes (check out the energy 2000 and the hyperstate 1999 sets
) but now he seems to play more progressive tunes. Like Sasha and Paul Oakenfold. I would really like that he went back to the good "magik" style. And cut the progressive tunes. We have so many dj's who play progressive tunes, and so few that play uplifting. And hey! it was the magik style who got him famous. Ti�sto: Show us your old skillz, be a real magikan!

Just to get into 1 detail: yes, he did play Silence, and everyone got insane, they loved it! So why should he stop playing it? Is that all you can come up with if someone asks why you don't like Tiesto? You may not like him but if that is the whole reason why you don't than put a plug in your ears for 5 mins or so
I totally disagree with the opinion that Tiesto is not as good as he used to be. I think he is getting better and better. Last night, he made me remember why I loved his performances, and I will think back to last night for quite a while...!
