Imagine Safri Duo spinning and no1 dancing..
I hate human beings.
80% of them are stupid, STUPID!!
Theres this little club here in town, that somehow managed to bring SAFRI DUO!! so i say to myself, even though i hate this disco since its a place for idiots to get drunk and for ugly chicks to get f..., OKAY lets see safri duo.
They made a fantastic job..the first time i ever heared my mp3s played in a club- meaning TRANCE music (which is quite unpopular in austria). space brothers, some gr8 remix of airwave, perpetous dreamer, tiesto.. and a great mixing! BUT no1, hardly no1 was to be found on the dancefloor and i felt stupid dancing alone, so i just sat there and listened..and then, when the resident dj was spinning Kylie Minongue(?) and Lady Marmalade, or gigi d'agostino(dont ask
) the club exploded, all the ppl jumping singing. i was like "AHH!! wtf!!" ..and thats called DISCO
what a frustrating experience..

holy sh*t, i would love to see safri duo spin live. That's a sad story indeed. Over here people would go nuts. But I believe it's in the club that you are in and the crowd.

safri duo is 1 of da best drum beaters in da world...those people most of not have listen 2 his little set with Johan Gielen from Trance Energy
I saw Safri Duo @ Energy 2001 in Zurich and I have to say that it was fuking boring! first, they didn't spin, they are 3, and the third man is a DJ who spin scuds with only beats & melody. The Duo is playing with its bongo & djembe over the mix, and real music instruments over beats & melody, it's really difficult to hear something clear! We wer about 25'000 peeps on the floor at this moment, but anyway only 5000 'ecstasyed' peepes were dancing, the others were trying to match the beat! And their set was only 15 minutes long (okay it must be very tiring to play bongo's but ...)
I don't think the sound system was in fault, because every others sets sounded awesome. So for me Safri Duo live, never again, or drink-time during their set...
well in my club there were no bongo players, it was the 2 PRODUCERS spinning. No drums whatsoever.
and even if it wasnt "Safri DUO"(but it was! ) they made a fantastic job on the turntables..well shit happens

I had evenings like this, last one was two weeks ago with DJ SCOT PROJECT...
I also saw DJ Westbam 4 years ago, spinning in front of 23 people! How can that happen?
But in your case it must be the club owners fault, they didn't know their customers well enough....sux
situations like that are a great opportunity to meet and have a chat with them and let them know at least someone cares about what theyre playing.
oh well i went up and wanted them to play tiesto- flight 643...he told me that he only has the "new one" Urban Train..what a conversation
They had to go then..
well... it's like playing music to a deaf man. but at least he has a good reason for which he can't dance... normal ppl don't.
especially with safri duo which let's agree has pretty dancy songs.. I mean I simply can't not to dance.. but hey, that's why we are different.
lol, I wonder how they felt.
