We will Live Forever

In 'We will Live Forever' track I used the following synthesizers:
Roland JP-8000
Clavia Nord rack 3
Novation KS-rack

to create something different than just another trance track. The sounds were all created originally by me and I tried to stay away from the usual supersaw trance. In this piece there was more emphasis placed on the arrangement and melody.

I appreciate your honest feedback my trance buddies...
Thanks

Talking Hi neighbour!

You own a Nordic Rack and a JP-8000? NIce! What program you producing with?

Gotta hand it to ya if you are constructing your own patches! Thats awesome man! They sounded great!
It sounded lacking though, in a few respects.
The percs seem to need some more sounds in the spectrum and didnt have much reverb sounding in the mix...in fact the whole scope of the arrangement could use some wider array of sounds. Some more high freq samples like hihats, brushes or swooshy white noise sounds were lacking IMO.

The melody is quite nice...nothing tremendously catchy though, bro! If you had an instrument take over this line that was completely different sounding it might really bring out the tune.

I think the bassline was also poorly implemented. try a variation rather then just a pulsing ONE note per chord structure.

Also, try putting some width into your stuff by panning more or positioning certain instruments in different places in the stereo field (eg. hihats at +90% stereo, or pan the snare roll, etc)

The ending explosion is very nice! Hope this is helpful to you! Overall I'd say 8/10!

Thanks Digital Aura,
I listened to your U2 vs. Digital Aura house mix...sounds good man!
Thanks for your comments. I'm always afraid to apply too much reverb in my productions in order to preserve clarity, but I guess I'm still learning. Also, sound effects are important but it's hard to come up with good stuff.
Thanks for the pointers, I'll try to implement the suggestions in my next productions.

hey man, yay for canada
ok the beginning sounds pure oldschool tiesto ! (which rocks) , then it goes to regular trance

real nice use of synths
ur bass needs some work, like make it more in ur face, and more louder, noticable, melody on some parts is really amazing, other parts its just good, overall i think its well made, u got some great ideas m8,
keep posting would like to hear more later
peace out

Thanks Sunquest, I like your productions, so your comments are always welcome and important to me. The bass was left to be subdued on purpose since I wanted to create a warm atmposhere, not too aggressive. Warm, analog, fuzzy kind of a feeling coupled with the punchy rhythm section is what I'm trying to achieve...
Thanks for the suggestions again, neighbour.

ok here we go... , now i cant remember who said it i think it was the first post (im too lazy to press the back button ) but u definatly need to keep those hats goin at the start but u really need to bring them out and a bit of reverb woudnt go a miss to give at that dreamy edge , having said that i really like this choon , has a realy melodic feel about it i think u can definatly add more perc to it and as said before some higher freq sounds , i like the melody but it needs bringing out and is very dry (cough reverb ) but on the whole nice production 7-8/10
