ionic hairdryers?
i guess this thread is primarily for girls but boys who know anything about this should comment too...
has anyone used an ionic hairdryer or know anything about them?
i have super thick hair and it takes forever to dry. plus i am concerned that drying it is bad for my hair. some one told me the ionic dryers work faster but i dont know anything about them.
are they more energy efficient?
better for the health of your hair?
faster working?
more effective at blowing hair straight?
any opinions and observations are welcome. 
omg, i have pondered starting a thread like this in the COR several times, to tell all the girls to use ionic hairdryers because they're insanely awesome. i never did it though since i figured there are so few girls it'd be sort of pointless.
but YES! ionic hairdryers are awesome. i switched to one a few years ago and my hair dries sooo much faster than with a regular hairdryer. it also makes it straighter and shinier too. i'm not sure how they compare in energy efficiency, to a normal hairdryer.
it used to take me 30-45 minutes to dry my hair (which is usually around shoulder length). now it takes 10-15 minutes.
get one!

did i say that?
I bought one for my ex when her regular one broke. She didn't really like it at first because she thought it took longer to dry her hair, but in the end she converted and told me to go away when I offered to replace it.

ok so i got an ionic hairdryer and i used it but it seemed to take just as long and my hair looks the same. i think i am going to return it and get one of those flattening irons instead.

Here is my book on hair care LOL....
I have an ionic drier and I found it works almost the same as my regular one.
No matter what dryer, always dry your hair on "warm," never on "hot," for the first 3/4 of the job (meaning until your hair is almost dry), then turn it on cool for the last 1/4. This makes for less frizz and more shine. And put on a curl-defining, straightening, whatever cream before you blow dry, and then another thin layer of it to the ends when you're done. There's a line of products called Matrix which are AMAZING for hair you want straight, they really are awesome.
When I go out I follow the above steps and then also scorch my hair with a hair straightener lol. The $25 ceramic or glass-plate ones you find at the drugstore are just as good as the $125 ones elsewhere. This probably doesn't make my hair look much different cause it's already stick straight, but it tames a lot of frizzies for the night and it makes me feel "done up."
I blow dried my hair every day for years and then I went to France for a summer and was traveling around, so I didn't get to blow dry once. My hair improved 1000% after that month. Remember NOT to blow dry every day if you can help it. Just wash hair, towel dry and brush, and wait about 15 minutes until it's not soaking any more. Then put a cream like I mentioned above in. Then let air-dry and brush every 5 or so minutes. If you really have to blow dry cause it's cold outside or you are OCD like I used to be, then use one of those intensive conditioning repair things (St. Ives has a nice mint-scented one) once a week, and use a light leave-in conditioner every day.

acutally i was wondering if maybe it didnt work for me cause my hair type is different than people i previously talked to. i have really thick and fine dark hair. if i let it air dry in normal, not cold, weather, it takes about 6 hours. so you can see why i feel the need to blow dry it (takes maybe 20-30 min to blow dry it on hot). i dont normally use any special products other than thermasilk conditioner but my hair is really shiny and not frizzy when i dry it. i dry it every other day. i think i might like to try one of the straigtening products. i have this curl in the back that wont dry straight.

just wear this rasta hat (tam for you noobs)
