Markus Schulz pres. Elevation - Clear Blue [Klangzentrum's Deep Red Remix] *update*

okelidokeli...finally after some days of work, here´s my remix of this amazing track...

i decided to post a 96kb/s version first, because it´s 10.19mins long...so you could dl a rather smaller file...then after some feedback, i could post the with your feedback improved 192kb/s full version...
i hope you understand my decision, which is mainly based on your comfort...

damn, talking to much...

here´s the track

*link removed*

if the download doesnt work, please have a try with a dl-manager or with IE as your browser...

feedback is welcome and really appreciated...

cheers,
Lars

Ok, i'll try.

Nice intro with this seagulls and wave sounds, they create a nice atmosphere during the whole track.
At the end of the intro the bassline could be faded in, it also sounds a litte dry, maybe because of the mp3 quality.

Overall a nice relaxed and athmospheric proggy interpretation of this nice tune. I like it.

Posted by Mane on Jan-03-2005 22:59:

wow amazing remix!!! what do you use to making tracks?? its really great, maybe add more fx in the background and hmm maybe improve only a little bit percusion overal great

Posted by Klangzentrum on Jan-03-2005 23:05:

thx for your replies so far!
@ arctic: i think about the idea with the cutoff faded in bassline!
bassline will get some delay...thx for finding it out!
@ manepercs are ugly at some parts, you´re right...i´ll "repair" that...
and some fx could be bad in such a long mix...
and i use FLoops...synths i used in this one are mainly v-station and absynth...

How do I download this? Lycos and Geocities and those damn sites never work for me. Gives me a 404.

edit: nevermind, somehow it just started now after many clicks...

I'll get back with feedback...

did you tried save target as or a dl-manager?!

yeah, i know these problems with lycos...no idea how it could work better...except the mentioned issues...but the webspace is free...

Posted by montana on Jan-03-2005 23:29:

this is kickass stuff, 192 please

Posted by Subtle on Jan-03-2005 23:31:

listening:

nice percs in the intro, really like when it "kicks" in.. firm kick.. synths are nice.. good atmosphere.. change the hats in 4:41 (they dont sound any good) feels abit empty after 6 minutes (still waiting for the the additional synth as in the Airwave remix, guess thats just me) very hard track to remix imo, and u did a good job.. what i think u need to do is to make something in the last 3 minutes making the first 7 minutes worth waiting.. good work still

Posted by Klangzentrum on Jan-03-2005 23:37:

@montana: as i said...you´ll get the 192er version when it´s completly done with the suggestions made by you in this topic...

@ subtle: thx, very good objective review! i was thinking about an additional 2nd submellow, 2...but i havent found a good sounding one, yet...but probably the bell sound gets a little brother...or i´ll add an arp-pad into the track...

Posted by Cloudburst on Jan-03-2005 23:49:

Personaly I think the seagulls are kinda cheesy and overdone.

Nice kick and bass, they feel tight. You have a nice atmosphere going on. Maybe some additional layer is needed to fill out the 10 minutes this track lasts. Nice work!

Posted by Sunquest on Jan-04-2005 00:07:

yet another remix of this tune hehe i joke
u got urself a nice chillout mix here, i like the seagels, anything nature sounds i like a lot, good shit
i think you could add a stronger main hi hat, to make the clap not sound so like straight with the kick...
breakbeat is nice, but u could add some more delays on some percs for that part, to make it float with the rest of the track
other than that, i love this, this is def. up there with the original mix for me, great work
but all time best remix is Airwave
any chance i can get full 192 of this? i just love clear blue!

Posted by Klangzentrum on Jan-04-2005 00:15:

@cloudburst: glad you liked it...additional sounds are planned! the seaguls? a matter of taste...i like them...

@sunquest: you helped me a lot...good tips (especially about percs [i´m not that good in percs]) are always appreciated...
a 192kb/s version will be posted when your suggestions, how to improve the remix, are done as good as possible...i want to save you from a huge download, which is not as good as it could be with some tweaking...

and yes: the airwave remix is AWESOME!!! i started with a re-interpretation of that remix (topic is lost in the deep wholes of this forum), but i decided to make my own remix...

Posted by darkstar on Jan-04-2005 03:22:

sounds very fine, but i got only 7 minutes of the mix?

Posted by dEEkAy on Jan-04-2005 08:02:

will grab it as soon as I'm home

Posted by montana on Jan-04-2005 09:00:

lars, imo this needs to further alteration, just perfect as it is

Posted by Klangzentrum on Jan-04-2005 12:01:

i just wrote down a list what´s to change...thank you for support!
i´m going to improve the remix after i´ve eaten!
i´ll keep you up to date...

so far...anyone else? suggestions are still welcome!

Posted by Syeker on Jan-04-2005 14:00:

The intro could use some more woshing panned effects, probably just before introducing the bass & bongos. As a everyone said the percussions sound a bit dry (mainly the shaker), but leave the snare/clap thingy the way it is sounds pretty cool to me . And finally i think is kindda "not mixing out friendly". Anyway i enjoyed it

Updated the version! full release is out in 192kb/s! 2 mirrors available...

it´s an error by lycos hosting...you have to download in IExplorer with save target as or you could use a dl manager...

sorry for the circumstances...but this webspace is free...

@montana: thx! glad you like it! let´s see, if elevations gives a comment...would be cool!

Posted by staticblue on Jan-06-2005 21:58:

another great work from Klangzentrum. omG i know this seashore sound !!!

nothing that really "suprises" me in this track, as i had already heard most of the sounds in some samples you sent me (lagoon pWns! )

overall you have a minimalistic but clean and solid mix, and some nice chilly sounds which merge in a repetitive downtempo chilled atmosphere that i really appreciate.
